- Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced is the port of a critically acclaimed PC RPG that is set in the Forgotten Realms fantasy world and based on a popular Dungeons & Dragons role-playing system.
Alex Sem · Jun 23, 2021 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - While consoles may not be the best place to revisit the streets of Neverwinter, whether alone or in a party with a friend, the title still feels fun to play. It has suffered graphically through the years, certainly looking dated despite the refurbishments made, but the story and adventure at the heart of Neverwinter Nights are truly worth experiencing. As a friend once said in reference to a book being battered over the years, that means it was well-loved.
Greg Delmage · Jan 14, 2020 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Neverwinter Nights is as close to the original Dungeons and Dragons games as they come, and that’s what great about it. We were surprised and happy to see sharper graphics on the PS4 than on PC, and to listen to the beautiful soundtracks once again. The console version could have used a little bit more work on its interface though, which is perhaps a weak point. The gameplay, however, once you ignore the aged parts, still stands strong and offers plenty of entertainment.
Pimp Without The Pee · Jan 14, 2020 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition brings a classic game to a more modern look while retaining everything which made the original a classic in the first place. It's worth playing for anyone who hasn't ever played it and a fun trip through memory lane for those of us who have loved it. Unfortunately, the Switch version suffers from not having the touchscreen-enabled for navigating menus and in-game.
Robin Baird · Jan 08, 2020 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Extremely tolerant gamers willing to overlook these flaws and seek the under-the-surface quality will find it, but playing a true remake or graphically made-over game would be a more inviting prospect than the disappointing port that we actually have.
Mark Steighner · Dec 18, 2019 Reviewed on PS4 - This addition to Beamdogs rejuvenated D&D games didn’t hit the mark for me as the others did. Its slow-paced combat really kills the momentum and is much tougher than its predecessors even on an easier setting. The story itself is still interesting and gripping, but it’s not enough to save the game from its flaws. With it being so slow, tough and not very pretty it will be hard to pick this over games in the same genre. D&D fans, or fans of the original game may still find some joy here, but newer players may not see what all the fuss was about.
Graham Cameron · Dec 14, 2019 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - I genuinely feel overall that Beamdog and Skybound did their best with it, but realized at some point that there was only so much they could do to make it work. In the end, anyone willing to struggle through a game where doing almost anything is a chore will be rewarded with one of the deepest role-playing experiences possible. For everyone else, just pick up the PC version for cheap. It’s worth it and will run on anything nowadays.
Thomas Medina · Dec 07, 2019 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - It is an ugly and frustrating RPG to play; one that is woefully poorly designed, and very rough, with some glimmers of gold speckled throughout the DLC campaigns. Only those who grew up playing Neverwinter Nights, or are die-hard RPG fans will have the resolve to enjoy this package of 2000-era BioWare. This truly requires historical understanding of the limitations of the time it was made, and that many RPG developers were just barely coming to grips with 3D engines. Everyone else would be better off replaying Skyrim.
Albert Lichi · Apr 13, 2020 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Neverwinter Nights remains a fantastic RPG, but the Enhanced Edition on PlayStation 4 fails to recapture that magic. If you can look past the incredibly dated graphics, there's tons of classic role playing to get stuck into, but playing it with a controller and clunky UI is not particularly pleasant.
Gareth Chadwick · Mar 12, 2020 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition on Nintendo Switch suffers too many technical hiccups to be worth getting in its current state despite being chock full of loads of content.
