- When it works, NBA 2K15 is every bit as good as this series is capable of being. The gameplay is deep and rewarding, and its modes offer a wealth of ways to play. But that great game is frequently smothered by issues with functionality. ...NBA 2K15 still offers the most realistic version of the game of basketball you'll find on any platform this year. It's just a shame that players will have to struggle against its shoddy infrastructure in order to get the most out of that experience.
Alex Navarro · Nov 05, 2014 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - NBA 2K15 is completely intertwined with the real sport. The presentation is so good there are even promo vignettes before matches, and they’re different every time. There are half-time interviews with a sideline reporter. A studio with punditry. The commentary is outstanding. Allow yourself to get pulled into the show, and it’s hard to see where real life finishes and NBA 2K starts. It's the best sports series on earth. By a distance.
PC Gamer · Oct 28, 2014 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Although it took me some time to accept, NBA 2K15 for mobile is not bad. Yes, there are a lot of flaws, but there is enough substance in this version for an enjoyable experience. If 2K can continue to evolve and experiment new ways to maximize touch controls, it’s only in due time we’ll have a polished NBA experience. Timing is everything, and I feel like NBA 2K15 was being worked on prematurely on a platform that is not quite ready for it.
Ian Porter · Oct 24, 2014 Reviewed on iOS - Overall, NBA 2K15 has come on leaps and bounds from the previous year’s game, really fleshing out all the game modes. ...The gameplay is much smoother too, and the game just looks great. The loading times do still need work, and hopefully 2K will address that with patches and in next year’s NBA game. The server issues also need to be resolved for a better online experience but a new bar has been set for all sports games here.
Aran Suddi · Oct 22, 2014 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Unfortunately, no amount of presentation and content can make up for significant technical issues. While I have high hopes that the developers can eventually optimize and patch in improvements to make it truly playable, at this point it’s really hard to recommend NBA 2K15 in its current form.
Eric Ford · Oct 22, 2014 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - If the guts of the game are available, NBA 2K15 is the best sports title of the year, by a New York mile. The design choices at its edges — either needlessly making offline features dependent on online access, or insufficiently supporting the dedicated online modes — stain what is otherwise a role model for all sports video games.
Owen S. Good · Oct 21, 2014 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - It’s got upside, no doubt, but like that highly drafted rookie that tests fans’ patience, the question is how many people will stick around waiting for it to pan out.
Nick Tylwalk · Oct 20, 2014 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - 2K Sports and Visual Concepts takes NBA 2K15 to the next level for another year, but stops short of introducing any sweeping changes. The on-court action has been refined and MyCareer is arguably better than ever, making NBA 2K15 another fine basketball game. It's just a shame that the online facet of the game is so poor. Despite this, NBA 2K15 is still well worth checking out.
Richard Walker · Oct 20, 2014 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Those of you expecting NBA 2K15 to be a revolutionary basketball simulation may be a bit disappointed that this is more of a refinement. Fortunately, the small changes do improve the overall package – and Visual Concepts already had an outstanding basis to work from. Basketball fans will find everything that they want and more here.
Edwin Garcia · Oct 17, 2014 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - On the court the magnificent gameplay ensures you’ll want to play game after game. Unfortunately, if you want to play those games online you’ll inevitably hit a brick wall. If your plan is to play mostly offline you’ll find a lot to love here. Hopefully 2K will quickly iron out their issues and give this game the infrastructure its gameplay deserves.
