- Even with some servers marked as welcoming to newcomers, diving-in the first few times may be an overwhelming exercise in being brutalized by more experienced players, but once you get into the rhythm of each faction's style of play, Natural Selection 2 opens up the throttle on one of the most interesting and intense multiplayer experiences you'll find on PC.
Game Trailers · Dec 08, 2012 Reviewed on PC - Natural Selection 2 needs some crash bugs ironed out, which is bad for the full release of a game that's spent so long in alpha-testing with its community. Right now command mode doesn't have re-defineable keys, and I found the current configuration almost unplayable. But I can't remember an indie shooter that took on such a huge task and nailed it so comfortably

Sure, it could benefit from an interactive tutorial, fixed Explore Mode, and perhaps some optimization for load times, but what is here is still an incredible team experience.

Anyone interested in playing a team-based game that actually requires you to work as a team should definitely check this one out, but just know that it'll take some time to learn how everything works.

A better tutorial could go a long, long ways toward making it more approachable, but Natural Selection 2 is worth the frustration and failure to learn.

Because it's unfamiliar, players aren't able to just slip into it, and there is a significant knowledge gap between a new player and an old. You can't just transfer your Call of Duty skills over here, or even your impressive actions-per-minute in StarCraft 2.

The intimidating learning curve may put off some, but it’s this level of nuanced difficulty that ultimately makes the game such an interesting one. If Natural Selection was simpler than it is it wouldn’t be the fascinating multiplayer sandbox that it is. Anyone with an interest in a more thoughtful shooter — or a more organic type of strategy game — will find a lot to love here.

If you’re a fan of online shooters on PC, then Natural Selection 2 not only comes highly recommended, but essential, and should sit right alongside other classic entries into the genre.

En todo caso, aunque tener pericia en juegos FPS y/o RTS no asegura la victoria, los experimentados con estos géneros tendrían que darle una oportunidad.
Albert Ambros · Nov 27, 2012 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Was ich an dem Spiel gar nicht hoch genug loben kann, ist die bewusste Auslegung auf konsequentes Miteinander: Commander und Team, alle zusammen gegen den Gegner und keiner alleine irgendwo mit der Shotgun in der Dunkelheit. Denn da lauern die Aliens -- die sich ganz anders spielen. Eine herrliche Abwechslung im sonstigen Multiplayer-Angebot, in dem wir doch alle irgendwie immer die gleichen Soldatennasen spielen.

Natural Selection 2 pits alien against human in an action-packed struggle for survival. Wield devastating weaponry as a Frontiesman marine, or become the xenomorph as a deadly. Kharaa life-form. While both teams fight each other in first person, two commanders look down on the battlefield in a top-down Real Time Strategy view. These Commanders can issue orders, build structures, collect resources, research technology, and deploy abilities to help their team overcome the enemy.
