- Driving is enjoyable in almost every circumstance because it’s as refined as the series has ever seen, and the progression is well-paced to make you feel like you’re learning. There are moments, though, where it shows its roughness around the edges that makes it less able to compete with its peers that are better looking and have more focused gameplay. It struggles with the kind of racing game that it wants to be, but it still manages to offer a fun racing experience for experienced and inexperienced NASCAR fans alike.
Matt Bianucci · Sep 21, 2019 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - In fact, there is very little I can say negatively about NASCAR Heat 4. Visually, the way the game deals with shadows under the cars doesn’t do the gorgeous lighting effects of racing at night justice. Track surfaces seem a little dull in comparison to the dirt tracks. The dirt tracks seem to have more luster and reflect light better than the tarmac. For some it may just feel like an update to NASCAR Heat 3 and that’s fair. But if you’ve not played previous iterations then NASCAR Heat 4 is definitely the pinnacle of virtual stockcar racing.
Joe Pepek · Sep 20, 2019 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - NASCAR Heat 4 is, without a doubt, the best NASCAR racing game yet, but there’s still some room for improvement. Many will find its online features lacking; career mode still isn’t what you’d call “deep”; and crashes remain unspectacular. Still, the whole experience is engaging enough to make it worthwhile. There is pleasure to be found in managing your team and coming out on top, which means you’ll find yourself returning to NASCAR Heat 4 until next year’s inevitable follow-up.
Richard Seagrave · Sep 18, 2019 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - NASCAR Heat 4 gets it right with properly replicating NASCAR and the racing is the best the series has seen. The AI does a wonderful job of not ruining the experience and is a better opponent than people online. The Career Mode continues to be deep. About the only knock the game has is that there is no major new mode but the advancements are enough. You won’t be worrying about that when you’re racing. I feel the dedication to eSports brought upon this upgrade of on-track action and the visuals get the necessary jump to be considered a major player in racing games.
Cory Wells · Sep 15, 2019 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - NASCAR Heat 4’s A.I. is a work in progress, the career mode is adequate, and the online suite is behind the times. Nevertheless, it’s the best offering to date even if it’s not totally dialed in, forcing you to get up on that steering wheel and dig deep for your spot on the track. The series' latest from developer Monster Games makes some tweaks to improve the on-the-track experience.
Matthew Kato · Sep 10, 2019 Reviewed on PS4 - Should you be after a reason to finally jump in to the NASCAR experience, then you’ll probably struggle to find much here that you wouldn’t have witnessed last time out. Sure, the racing feels slightly more polished, but in terms of excitement, there is very little on board. For a yearly release based on one of the biggest racing franchises, NASCAR Heat 4 on Xbox One doesn’t quite do it justice and even though those wanting a functional racer will find enough to be going on with, there aren’t many reasons to pick this over any other racer on the market.
Carlos Santuana · Oct 14, 2019 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Everything is a huge step up. This is why NASCAR Heat 4 is the game that all previous games could have been, why it’s the game that I would recommend for any fan of the sport. It won’t convert anyone that already dislikes NASCAR, but even those people could find some fun here.
Gary Bailey · Oct 02, 2019 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - A dated and niche license receives the game that it deserves - shallow, simplistic and unsatisfying. Turn left before you get to the checkout.
Luca Di Lullo · Sep 23, 2019 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Nový NASCAR Heat 4 ma veľmi neočaril, no v podstate ani nijako vážne nesklamal.
