- My Friend Pedro: Ripe for Revenge is something every mobile gamer must try. The visuals, the gameplay, the music, and the feeling of satisfaction it gives are simply the very definition of a great game and if you have a couple of bucks, you should definitely buy the premium.
Madhavan Kannan · Dec 05, 2021 Reviewed onRead full review - My Friend Pedro is an adrenaline-pumping and fast-paced 2D shoot ‘em up action platformer where we have to keep a constant momentum to avoid losing our score multiplier.
NimbleThor · Aug 17, 2021 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - My Friend Pedro: Ripe for Revenge is a wonderfully ridiculous shooter that manages to turn bullet-time slaughter into a simple but effective artform. There’s so much fun to be had here that you’d really be pretty foolish if you didn’t pick it up and give it a go.
Harry Slater · Aug 05, 2021 Reviewed onRead full review - It's hard not to feel cool while playing My Friend Pedro. It's stylish action is completely manageable thanks to slow-motion mechanics, and its scoring system is a fun, non-punishing incentive to push through levels as smoothly and quickly as possible. Since it's a free-to-play game with no ads or currencies, there's no harm in trying it out. You might even be able to beat it without dying to see almost everything it has to offer without spending a dime. If you do, though, you might want to throw a few bucks to unlock premium just to support developers for making such a great action game on mobile.
Campbell Bird · Aug 05, 2021 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - My Friend Pedro is easily one of the most stylish and action-filled games of the last decade. It’s breakneck speed to the finish line left me wanting more. It’s a great case for the age-old argument “are video games art?”. For my money, I think My Fred Pedro is.
Kurt John Palomaria · Apr 24, 2020 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - It can easily kill your combo if you mess something up. This is a game made to be played many times, with you building your skill with the controls and your knowledge of the stages, but both these things feel slightly clumsy. Still, there's absolutely fun to be had here, with some sequences that truly do feel great to play, and collectable gameplay modifiers that let you go totally bananas.
Stephen Tailby · Apr 14, 2020 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Like a popcorn popping Hollywood blockbuster, My Friend Pedro offers a bullet-bonanza ballet that’s hard to ignore thanks to its slick moves, combining a great sense of fast food action gameplay that escalates in challenge as you grow accustomed to the many flourishes it adds throughout. Regrettably the characterisation and story falls short, but in all likelihood these fundamentals won’t matter if you’re looking for an action-packed thrill ride, and boy does My Friend Pedro offer that in spades.
James Davie · Dec 16, 2019 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Despite its brevity, My Friend Pedro is a bloody and addicting score-chaser that should keep you glued to your controller from start to finish thanks to its punchy gunplay, surreal story, and infectious synth-laden soundtrack. If you’re a fan of stylish and violent side-scrollers like Katana Zero and Not A Hero, this one is well worth adding to your Switch library.
Francis DiPersio · Nov 26, 2019 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Just when I had a solid grasp on the controls and could pull off stellar moments of action, the final stretch morphed into a series of annoying insta-death puzzles and dull boss battles. I had a fair amount of fun blasting fools in My Friend Pedro, but I wish my experience was more about losing myself in the frenzy of its action and less about navigating a tiresome control scheme.
Javy Gwaltney · Jul 08, 2019 Reviewed on Switch - Altogether, My Friend Pedro is a speedrunner's paradise, offering a charming story with good gunplay for its price tag. But if you are looking for pure replay value you won't find that here (unless you are a speedrunner).
