- MX vs. ATV Supercross Encore is a bad game. This hurts me considering I have been an avid fan of Rainbow’s titles since the PS2 era. They were always dumb fun with friends, and now they have slowly become an attempt to cater to an audience that really doesn’t care either. I wish they would go back to the more arcade-style racing and focus on fun more than realism. Now excuse me as I boot up my copy of Splashdown: Rides Gone Wild.
Ken McKown · Nov 06, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - MX vs. ATV Supercross Encore is a bad remaster. There's a ton of content to be found here, but the unreliable physics, iffy controls, and immensely erratic framerate ruin what could otherwise have been a decent budget title. Sadly, those looking for their MX vs. ATV fix are much better off waiting for Rainbow Studios to develop a new instalment in this series specifically for the PS4.
Marcello Apostolico · Nov 04, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - MX vs. ATV Supercross doesn’t reinvent the wheel. Those who enjoyed past entries will enjoy this one and get a kick out of the new right-stick jumping and aiming mechanic. ...The core racing action is reasonably good, but it never truly hooks you like a top-level game does. There’s a bit of back and forth, but you’re never on the edge of your seat. ...MX vs. ATV Supercross is easy to like, but hard to feel passionate about. It’s largely disappointing visually, but delivers more good than bad with its audio.
Jeremy Peeples · Nov 04, 2014 Reviewed on X360Read full review - I stepped into a world I’m not overly familiar with, but it actually heightened my interest in checking out the real sport. While the visuals can be a bit lackluster and repetitive in design, that’s the nature of the beast. For a budget title, I’d say it fits right in with offering fans exactly what they want: Dirt, mud, bikes, ATV’s and racing under the arena spotlight.
Justin Celani · Oct 28, 2014 Reviewed on X360Read full review - The racing in MX vs. ATV: Supercross can be fun once you spend some time using process of elimination to understand how you should be driving. The motocross bikes and ATV’s feel different with the former being a little more nuanced and the latter feeling more like a casual kart racer. But there isn’t a lot of game here and even supercross fans might struggle to get a lot of enjoyment out of it.
Edward Bayley · Nov 20, 2014 Reviewed on X360Read full review - MX vs ATV: Supercross isn’t a bad little racer. As a mid-price game it offers quite a bit of content and despite the rough animation and drab arenas, it handles in a quite satisfying manner. If you enjoy the idea of flinging yourself towards the sky, aboard an engine with wheels, then there is definitely something here for you to get your motor running.
