  • For sports fans, The Show is hands down a must have title. The excellent gameplay, gorgeous graphics, and the massive amounts of customization make this a title to last far and beyond the real life MLB season. Unfortunately, online play is lacking and sticks out like a sore thumb. If SCEA can fix their server connectivity, this could go down as one of the best sports games of all time. If you can get past the online deficiencies, then The Show is a definite must-have sports title.

  • All in all MLB 14: the Show leaves me wanting a bigger upgrade from 13, instead of just taking out a mode out and adding some new features. These added features are actually quite nice and work well, but a lot of the issues that haunt this game leave me feeling that MLB 13 is still the better game. That said, MLB 14: The Show is still a fun baseball game, and with saves from this version carrying over to the future versions it’ll be a great way to keep your character or franchise with you as years go by.

  • Baseball is a marathon of a season and each and every game, right down to the proper line-up and pitching match-up, is replicated daily and each game can be played in this mode. You can also use this screen to check real game times, live scores, and live situations. You can exit out of the mode and re-enter to refresh the games if you want to use it as a real time score tracker. Pretty nifty and the mode is available for the PS3, the PS Vita and the PS4.

MLB 14: The Show is a fantastic first offering on a new platform. I am impressed that every single feature is included, and the visuals are truly stunning. This may be the only baseball game in town, but it’s also still the best. I really look forward to seeing what the team at SCEA San Diego can do with the franchise as the PS4 matures.

  • MLB 14: The Show is still a wonderful game in spite of its online issues, and Sony San Diego has once again delivered the quality simulation expected of the series. The new presentation touches are terrific, and combined with the strong core gameplay, The Show on PS4 is the definitive version of the game. The wait was worth it for those of you that held out, and making the leap is more than recommended to anyone that picked up the PS3 version first.

  • This being said, it remains by in the large the same game we have played over the course of the past few years and the glitches do seem more prevalent. I would not blame if you wanted to wait another year to see what the development team could do with more time on the PS4’s hardware. There is plenty of room for growth but if you can’t wait you really can’t go wrong either.

  • MLB ’14 The Show is an integral upgrade for fans of the franchise that recently upgraded to the PS4. With no competition in sight, PlayStation 4 players don’t have any other options when it comes to baseball simulations, but then again, the year-in and year-out committment to quality from Sony San Diego made it so they never really needed those options in the first place.

  • MLB 14 The Show's shortcomings are ones that I understand and have forgiven. The core of the game is greatly changed; it is not merely a fresh coat of paint. ...MLB 14 still exhibits the kind of structural improvement that makes all preceding versions obsolete — a critical expectation of an iterative sports series that so many titles, even good ones, fail to accomplish.

  • MLB 14 on PS4 is a rare year one sports game on a new console that is both significantly better looking and feature complete with the last generation version. ...MLB 14: The Show is still a great game that doesn’t do a whole lot new compared to last year’s game, but the addition of vastly improved visuals on PlayStation 4 presents a slightly better case to jump in than the PS3 versions does.

  • The Show 14 is another pennant-winning effort for Sony San Diego that showcases improvements both on and off the field, and opens avenues of play to people looking to digest baseball in different ways. Best of all, the progress you make in this year’s game won’t be lost when spring training rolls around next year. Your Franchise and Road to the Show saves will carry over into The Show 15, allowing you to pick up right where you left off.
