- If you have an Apple Arcade subscription, then you should be playing Mini Motorways already. The same goes for those that play on Steam, where picking this one up should be a no-brainer. The Switch version is a bit more difficult to recommend, but that is only if you’re having difficulty stomaching the price point. If you can get past that, Mini Motorways is nothing short but an essential addition to your library. It’s sleek, addictive, and most importantly, incredibly fun.
SebastiaanRaats · Jul 17, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Though it lacks content and features, Mini Motorways has consumed much of my gaming time since I downloaded it more than a week ago. The simple gameplay, clean interface, and satisfying difficulty ramp led me to say, “Just one more run,” several times a session before ultimately calling it quits. Mini Metro hooked me when it first came to iOS years ago and has remained one of my favorite games to enjoy in short bursts, and I’m glad to add Mini Motorways to that same gaming rotation.
Brian Shea · May 23, 2022 Reviewed on Switch - Mini Motorways is a fun and oddly relaxing traffic management sim that’s ideally suited for short play sessions. What it lacks in options and modes, it makes up for with a gameplay hook that’s surprisingly easy to pick up and offers plenty of room for strategic thinking.
Ryan Janes · May 19, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - It’s an addictive and incredibly satisfying experience. The game runs perfectly fine on the Switch, offering both physical and touch controls. The bigger screen of the iPad is even better, but I wouldn’t say that you sacrifice much. At least you can actually buy it now.
Denis Koshelev · May 19, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - It could have been a really pretentious and mediocre art game, but Mini Motorways ended up being the complete opposite. This is pure arcade bliss, a simple but ridiculously challenging puzzler that won me over like few games in the genre. I can’t remember the last time I played a Switch game until its batteries ran completely dry because of how addictive and perfectly suited for portable play it was.
Leo Faria · May 18, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Mini Motorways is simple and extremely addictive. Experimentation with how best to use each element is fun and satisfying when something clicks. And when it doesn’t, you simply pick that piece back up and try something else.
John Rairdin · May 16, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Considering it’s a game all about cars and congestion, you’d think Mini Motorways would be a tense and stressful endeavor, but it’s by far one of the most addictingly chill game I’ve played in recent memory. I’m pretty sure it lowered my blood pressure, setting a nice calm mood right before bed. Players expecting a sandbox city planning game will be momentarily disappointed, but after only a few minutes with it, that disappointment will melt away (along with the day’s worries and woes).
Heather Johnson Yu · Aug 24, 2021 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Mini Motorways is a good title for a mobile device that simply fails to add any new depth as it moves to other platforms. It is nice to see a city grow, try to solve its traffic problems, find ways to make colored cars go to the right places. But once I passed the 300 trips taken milestone for any location, which is not hard to do, I found little motivation to go back and work to further optimize.
Cosmin Vasile · Aug 04, 2021 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Mini Motorways is a rather enjoyable puzzle game with a good level of challenge despite its simple mechanics. Those who may already have played Mini Metro will have a slight idea of what to expect when coming in, but even those who haven’t will feel right at home with the game. Although the experience can become somewhat repetitive after a while, Mini Motorways still remains a very recommendable game to play in short bursts.
Noparg · Jul 24, 2021 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Despite its rather brief runtime, Mini Motorways shows what made the game so successful on mobile platforms. Featuring a gameplay loop that's hard to resist, the only thing holding it back is a lack of true variety. Luckily, when the gratification loop is this intoxicating and the price is so minimal, the limited replay value can be easily forgiven.
