- McPixel 3 is the perfect follow-up to a largely underappreciated game from the mid 2000s. Yes, it has some shortcomings, but it’s still an unexpectedly fun game, especially when you consider that it was made by only one person. Sos Sosowksi, I applaud your efforts and am eagerly awaiting the next McPixel game.
Heidi Hawes · Jul 28, 2023 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - McPixel 3 on iOS is essential, but it will absolutely feel like poop if the humor doesn’t click with you. I loved McPixel and McPixel 3 is everything I wanted in a sequel and more. The wait for it on mobile has been long, but even in my third playthrough, McPixel 3 is just superb, and it will make you forget all about McPixel 2 which doesn’t exist so don’t worry.
Mikhail Madnani · Jul 14, 2023 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - McPixel 3 has opened my eyes to the series and has made me want to look at the previous games as it is such a joy to play. With games these days taking hours to get into and days to complete it’s nice to have a pickup-and-play game like this which is great to relax and enjoy an amusing experience.
Graham Cameron · Dec 18, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - McPixel 3 is a gag-heavy mashup of microgames and â90s adventure puzzles. It works when relying on speed and insanity, but its repetition and heavy reliance on trial-and-error solutions and gross-out humor will turn all but a few players away before completion.
Kirk Hiner · Dec 05, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - McPixel 3 is an intensely fast and fun time. It’s that point and click adventure game that us 80s/90s kids would have talked about on the playground alongside Mortal Kombat, swapping stories about potential fatalities and gags to discover and giggling at the crude humor.
Heather Johnson Yu · Nov 19, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - McPixel 3 is mercifully short, clocking in at around three to five hours depending on how familiar one is with point-and-click adventures, but those few hours do drag. Some fun can be had finding the game's more clever solutions but overuse of low-effort jokes and nonexistent sound effects outside repetitive music make it difficult to recommend to most.
Andrea Gonzalez · Nov 16, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - McPixel 3 is not a perfect sequel, but it does live up to the quality of its predecessor and delivers exactly what it promises. It's a humble game technically but it squeezes a lot of character out of that tiny visual palette. I wish the mechanics and structure on offer evolved to keep up with the last decade of game design,
Alex Santa Maria · Nov 14, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - McPixel 3 is frantic fun. The mixture of minigame madness and point-and-click puzzles deliver ridiculous outcomes which continue to amuse throughout its relatively short run time. Frustration can build, especially with its often bizarre solutions, however, the humor quickly overrides this.
Jaz Sagoo · Nov 14, 2022 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - McPixel 3 is the epitome of “smart-stupid,” a game which revels in its base humor with the express intention of making its players laugh at every step, whether that be through confusion, revulsion, meta antics, or just irreverent resolutions. It's a one-of-a-kind experience, and an easy recommendation for anyone open to some cheap laughs in a world where the points don’t matter.
Leo Faierman · Nov 14, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - McPixel 3 is a game you need to turn your brain off to enjoy. It’s crude, creative, and stupidly fun. The frustration that stems from repetitive bad ends is a feeling created by a gamer’s desire to win. However, these puzzles are less about winning and more about experiencing, and similar to McPixel 3, that makes no sense.
