  Marvel Run Jump Smash! has lots of enemies and various power-ups that can keep the game interesting, but only for a while. Although using different heroes and having actual battle mechanics that differ for each one of them does count for an interesting idea, it’s not enough to keep a fan of the movie, or comics, glued to the screen for long. As I said, I’ve lost any connection to a Marvel franchise after a while and just played it as another mediocre runner. Which, I think, it really is.

  Fortunately, the unique repertoire of your starting fantastic four keep the game fun, and the cost of entry is cheap. Marvel Run Jump Smash is far from the most sophisticated and addictive runner in the App Store, but comic-book fans looking for a colorful, fast-paced, and challenging experience should suit up.

  Uninspired, underdeveloped, and over-priced makes for a bad combination. It’s a shame, too, as the base gameplay for Marvel Run Jump Smash makes for a decent enough iOS title, and the cute characters are certainly fun to use.

  Marvel Run Jump Smash! doesn't offer enough ingenuity to make such time or monetary investment worthwhile. Even as a huge Marvel fan, I struggled to feel as enthused about the game to an appropriate level. It's all just a little too safe and lacking excitement.

  The big problem with Marvel Run Jump Smash! is that it either takes a great deal of time or a deep wallet to unlock everything. You can upgrade your Marvel characters with purchases, but you earn so little gold from each run that the only effective way to get everything is with real money. Considering Thor, Spider-Man and others cost an arm and a leg, that's a real shame.

  Marvel Run Jump Smash! might have a flashy costume and a heroic swagger, then, but underneath its just a mediocre endless-runner. A run-of-the-mill endless-runner with a flimsy Avengers skin layered on top, whatever Marvel Run Jump Smash’s super power is, it’s not ambition.
