- It’s appropriate for any age category, and its brain-boosting effect is further complemented by its artistic value. Its main virtue, however, is not the fact that it’s based on a classical opera – it’s that it’s addicting and fun to play and looks top notch. Let this game work its magic to your senses, for the magic it has.
Dan Vlasic · Oct 28, 2015 Reviewed on iOS, AndRead full review - The puzzles are fun and engaging and visually this game is a stunner. The in-game audio and sound effects also compliment the style of play quite well. There is great player engagement here, with great visuals and a fun storyline. The initial load up time was pretty long. It could use more levels, as it ends abruptly at 32.
William Bessette · Oct 21, 2015 Reviewed on And - What the game does well (the visuals, the way it tells the story, and the challenging and satisfying nature of most puzzles) it does really well. I don't think I'm cultured enough to fully enjoy the opera part, or smart enough to really get the most out of all the puzzles (see: speedrunning), but I still greatly enjoyed the overall experience of playing through Lab Like's Magic Flute by Mozart.
Nathan Reinauer · Sep 29, 2015 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Masterful artistry and compelling gameplay ultimately make Magic Flute well worth the price of admission. Puzzle fans will enjoy the beautiful music, a smooth British narrator (is that Paul Bettany?), lush cutscenes, a grand story, clever mechanics and worthy challenges with high replay value.
Lian Amaris · Sep 24, 2015 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - What you think of Magic Flute has a lot to do with what you think of sliding puzzles. If you’re a fan, there’s nothing here that’s going to shake the foundation of puzzle games in the future but if you’re looking for a quick puzzler to kill some time, Magic Flute does what it sets out to do. If you’re not a fan of sliding puzzles and find them the bane of all that is good in the world, stay far, far away.
