- It’s a fun distraction from the daily grind of HUT and the burgeoning career of the young RB for the Washington Commanders who happens to share my name. It definitely makes Madden NFL 23 worth owning this year.
Jon Hueber · Oct 17, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - From control to innovation, Madden 23 delivered one of its best full game experiences to date. However, a push for creativity has led to stark inconsistencies from year to year, leaving many unsatisfied with modes like Face of the Franchise.
Olivier Dumont · Oct 03, 2022 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Madden 23 is a rehash of all the previous Madden‘s in the series. Bits and pieces were taken from those games and labelled as new. Even though FieldSENSE was refurbished I still strongly believe that it gave Madden 23 its shine.
Varno Harris · Sep 24, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Madden NFL ’23 is one of those years that if you skipped it, you wouldn’t really be missing anything. The additions to the Face of the Franchise mode aren’t significant enough to drop last year’s iteration and start again here, and that goes for any of the modes. The one big feature, FieldSENSE, didn’t live up to the hype, and even if it isn’t a setback, it didn’t improve upon the main things that annoy me. Perhaps this is more of a feature for the competitive scene, but for your everyday Joes, it’s more complication for the same result.
Jordan Hawes · Sep 16, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Madden NFL 23 is the best gridiron game on PS5 to date, but the series is taking toe-taps forward rather than big, confident strides.
Sammy Barker · Sep 05, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - I think that it was beyond perfect that the best version of Madden football would be the one that was made to honor the legacy of its namesake. From the factoids that I learned about Coach, to the superb presentation and soundtrack throughout the entire game, to the fantastic on field play.
Terrence Johnson · Sep 01, 2022 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Madden NFL 23 has given me hope in this franchise in moving forward. Although there are some issues that may be fixed with some patches, there are many other changes that led this installment to be the best Madden game in years.
Kratos · Sep 01, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - The name of the game with Madden 23 is simplicity. The passing controls take practice, but they're easy to grasp. The menus are simple and easy to navigate. Everything feels stripped down, but in a good way. It's about the game itself without all the frills. This is really noticeable in the Face of the Franchise mode.
Charlie Ridgely · Aug 30, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - You’ll no longer be taking control of a rookie in Face of the Franchise, instead being put in the shoes of a veteran still out to make a name for themselves. The catch is, they only have one year. It’s an interesting premise, but as ever, it’s one mostly explored by boring menus rather than dramatic story scenes.
Richard Seagrave · Aug 30, 2022 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Madden 23 returns to its roots by focusing on gameplay improvement and player experience. Though no significant developments or additions were made to its multiple game modes, this still feels like a step in the right direction for a franchise that has otherwise been taking it in the shins in recent years.
