- Overall, this remaster is a decent title, though unfortunately is not a remaster that was wanted or memorable. With the combination of RPG, tower defense, and strategy, this was a title that I thought was tailor-made for me, but the various issues were not able to be overcome by the unique combination of genres. Despite some promising features, the negatives associated with the gameplay and camera were enough to keep me from fully enjoying this title.

Jim Sterling · Jun 07, 2017 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Lock's Quest can be a battle against itself, just as much against the enemy, but when things are clicking (which is most of the time), there's an enjoyable game here despite its frustrations.
Daniel R. Miller · Jun 07, 2017 Reviewed on PCRead full review - In all honesty, I really wished that I was able to say that I enjoyed Lock’s Quest. I had hoped that it would be a game that I could recommend to the masses that have missed the original DS game as I had done in the past. But alas, this scrapheap of a port will be long forgotten by most, except for those unlucky enough to have experienced it first hand. Should the developers find it in their good hearts to actually go and fix the myriad issues that Lock’s Quest on the PC has, then I will gladly give it another chance and review it at a later date. Now that the game has been out a week with no such update, it is with a heavy heart that I give Lock’s Quest the lowest score that I have ever given a video game. Farewell, Lock’s Quest, though you were given to me as a code from the developers, I still feel like you owe me the money for that new mouse.

Dylan Chaundy · Jul 03, 2017 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - For a fan of strategy, RPG, and puzzles Lock’s Quest could have been one of those titles that brought the three together properly. Nine years ago on the DS, it probably did it fairly well, but this port has a number of issues that could do with addressing. The camera and lack of explanation for your abilities are the most glaring ones, and once you settle into a tactical groove early on, things soon become dull.
Aran Suddi · Jun 05, 2017 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - The game is inoffensive enough and certainly a value proposition to those nostalgic for a Lock's Quest remaster. Frustratingly, a commitment to PC centric controls could have given a far more pleasant play experience. However, there lies more insidious issues beneath the varnish of this remaster. The dull real-time combat becomes interminable after a while, and the story, while presenting an occasional flicker of the unexpected, is mired by dull characters and a static world. Despite these issues, though, there's still a still a solid enough core to recommend here. If you're a fan, or at least able to tolerate tower defence, it might be worth a look.
Ian Goldberg · May 30, 2017 Reviewed on PCRead full review - De Nintendo DS a la generación actual.
