- While this game may take some time to get used to the controls once you begin navigating your way around the research base, start your training for space travel, and start getting to know Alice, you’ll find yourself wanting to continue the narrative far past its conclusion. This might be one of the best examples of a VR game that doesn’t need to be about over the top action to draw in players and provide a satisfying experience.
Andrew Stretch · Mar 08, 2017 Reviewed on PCRead full review - If, like me, you’re still looking for PSVR’s killer app, then Loading Human is not it. As with most of PSVR’s launch titles, Loading Human is definitely worth a look, as it does offer something unique and the story is certainly intriguing, but it remains a long way from being a must-buy – at least until its inexplicably unreasonable price drops.
David Brooks · Nov 28, 2016 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - The ideas behind Loading Human: Chapter 1 are exciting, but they don’t get to shine like they should due to a weird control scheme and ineffective acting. Players should be immersed into the sci-fi environment instead of fumbling through it. There’s also the concern if a Chapter 2 will actually come to fruition if this first game isn’t a hit. If not, then even those enthralled by the tale won’t ever get a satisfying conclusion.
Marcus Estrada · Oct 25, 2016 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - The story, albeit short, is solid enough to keep you interested, but clunky controls that make completing even simple tasks feel like a pain causes Loading Human to be a frustrating experience overall.
Dean James · Oct 23, 2016 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Loading Human: Chapter 1 is a flawed start to what might become an interesting journey down the line. While the execution was sloppy, I’m invested in Prometheus and Alice (you never forget your first VR kiss, after all), and am looking forward to finding out what happens next. If the puzzle design gets better and the controls fine-tuned, then Loading Human might be able to turn into something worth the high asking price.
Tyler Treese · Oct 20, 2016 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Going through the three to four hours of Loading Human: Chapter 1 is an exercise in patience. You endure the slow walking. You steel yourself for annoying puzzles. You sit through bland conversations. The story jumps around, and you wait for things to escalate and grab your attention. And while the climax of the game tries to be impactful, swelling music and a grand subject, the visuals and cinematography fall flat.
Kevin Ohannessian · Oct 14, 2016 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Loading Human: Chapter 1 is an interesting glimpse into story telling VR games. A few missteps (literal as well as figurative) and an overly familiar plot don’t detract from what is an interesting and fun game to play, even if I were only able to play it for small chunks of time.
Stuart Mclean · Nov 05, 2016 Reviewed on PS4 - Loading Human is an interesting experiment that looks to explore relationships through VR. However in Chapter One these feel rushed instead of being built at a steadier pace. The price point may also be off putting, as a £30 game that lasts 3 to 4 hours, that is only the first part of a trilogy. Untold Games have crafted a VR world that looks fantastic for the most part but it is populated by characters that come across as two dimensional, and a story that might be better enjoyed once all the chapters have been released.
Aran Suddi · Oct 17, 2016 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Overly fiddly controls combined with a brief duration, slow starting narrative and inflated price point make Loading Human's opening episode difficult to recommend, which is a shame given the sizeable ambition that lurks behind its otherwise subpar execution.
