  • Lifeless Moon takes on the challenge of describing the root of evil, taking to detail what the product of one’s environment is. And even though the game struggles to tell it, it’s a novel story set in the backdrop of space and time (and occasionally the pretty vista). If you can put up with weak platforming and light puzzle solving, you can knock this one out in an afternoon and have something to think about for the evening.

  • Lifeless Moon has its moments, but lacks any real excitement or interest that would have me recommending it to others.

To its credit Lifeless Moon is considerate of gamers time clocking in at about three hours. A lot of this is due to the hand holding that the game does as it basically tells players exactly where to go to progress, it never goes as far as to tell you where to find certain things though because then we could just watch the movie. But sometimes the game does feel a tad overly easy, I do appreciate a challenge every now and again and if there was a way to turn down the assistance in Lifeless Moon I think the game would be all the better for it.

  • Lifeless Moon turns out to be just as intriguing an adventure as its predecessor. The story may seem very similar and the puzzles simple, but what appeals to this game is the desire to explore and understand the world in which our hero finds himself.

  • A brief but well-made science fiction story, Lifeless Moon doesn't ask much from the player beyond a few hours of time and some light puzzle solving. Though it is light on content, what is there is interesting and rewarding. Recommended for fans of weird, think-y science fiction tales.

  • A nice look and decent pacing aren’t enough for me to recommend a game to pretty much anyone, though. I came in really wanting to like Lifeless Moon, but pretty much everything I enjoyed about it I could see in the screenshots and trailer. There are too many good puzzle games out there nowadays to spend time on one which has so little going for it.

  • Lifeless Moon tells a poignant tale about creation, hope, loss, and the majestic nature of our own existence. The writing is fantastic, as is the music and voice acting, and the environments are filled with moments of wonder. The camera angle occasionally moved when loading into a new area, but generally it looks good. There might not be a ton of complex puzzles to solve, but they offer a nice respite from exploration. It takes a bit of time to get going, but once you start to see the bigger picture and uncover its secrets, it’s well worth seeing through to the end.
