- Life is Strange is an exceptional adventure game ported from PC that incorporates sci-fi elements into a Twin Peaks-inspired high-school drama.
NimbleThor · Jan 09, 2020 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Even with a bunch of rough edges, Life is Strange manages to be super compelling. Although its primary plot points are typical teenage drama fare, there are great characters, quiet moments, and loads of little mechanical tricks to its gameplay that make it hard to put down.
Campbell Bird · Dec 21, 2017 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Life Is Strange does suffer from different technical issues — much like its console counterpart in 2015 — but it’s not enough to detract newcomers from experiencing its riveting narrative in full effect. With the addition of features like Photo Mode and bonuses like the iMessage stickers, Life Is Strange reiterates why fans need to rewind time and once again step into the shoes of Max.
Adnan Riaz · Dec 20, 2017 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Visually, Life is Strange is as beautiful as ever. The game runs on Unreal Engine, so it's console quality on your iPhone or iPad. As someone who's never played Life is Strange before, I'm thoroughly impressed with the graphics, because the world and characters are incredibly lifelike. While some motions still look a bit jerky, the movements and animations for all of the characters are pretty realistic. The colors in the game are bold and rich, and the dynamic lighting and weather just make everything pop. The soundtrack is incredible, and the voice acting is superb.
Christine Chan · Dec 15, 2017 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - The lack of proper controller support is baffling because this exists on multiple consoles. Out of all the point and click adventure experiences available today, Life is Strange is my favourite by a long shot. I hope this does well for Square Enix so they can port Life is Strange: Before the Storm as well.
Mikhail Madnani · Dec 14, 2017 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - The game doesn’t quite live up to other similar games in the genre, but it’s worth the time and energy to check out if you’re a fan of these type of games.
Oliver VanDervoort · Dec 14, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Life Is Strange feels like it should be quirky, or arch, or featuring a cameo appearance by Greta Gerwig. Instead, it's unfocused but earnest. It's a brilliant attempt at progressing and improving Telltale's familiar style, even as it's not, in and of itself, brilliant. I could nitpick multiple problems with the plot and pacing, but Life Is Strange nonetheless remains one of my favourite games of the year.
Phil Savage · Oct 22, 2015 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Life Is Strange is an impressive mixture of great writing, great voice acting, and interactive storytelling that'll pull on your heart strings like it's going out of style.
Chris Anderson · Oct 20, 2015 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Life is Strange: Episode 1 - Chrysalis is a great episode that sets up the high school world quite well and makes it a believable setting. While the story does proceed to get a little slow after the introduction of the time-rewind mechanic, it is necessary for the build-up to set the stage for the series going forward. It sets an intriguing premise that promises an epic finale centring around the mysterious storm that only Max knows is going to hit the small town of Arcadia Bay.
Josh Di Falco · Jan 06, 2018 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Life is Strange got off to a so-so start, but strong storytelling and impressive choice and consequence mechanics boost its first season. Soon the world really gets its hooks in, and you'll enjoy it despite yourself. The time rewind and choice mechanics are well-implemented, and the breadth of consequence is impressive. Max and Chloe are well fleshed-out.
