- So what we have in all is a beautiful platformer with ups and downs, a mundane narrative with a good message, and some real difficulty toward the end. The whole game probably only takes about an hour or two to finish. ...It's not a must-buy, not even for platformer fans, but it's a cute little game that most people can find some fun with.
Darren Nakamura · Sep 16, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - 1337 & Senri's game is a great indie platformer that's a bit on the short side, but for $7, it's a steal. Challenging and enjoyable while it lasts, Leo's Fortune is well worth a punt. It's the best game starring a furry green testicle with a moustache that you're ever likely to play.
Richard Walker · Sep 08, 2015 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Leo’s fantastic voice acting is leagues better than a number of characters I’ve seen in console video games, anime and animation. Leo’s murmurs and mumbles as he traverses the game make him more than just an avatar for the player. Hearing his cries of excitement after beating an obstacle or commentary on the level are a joy to hear. He isn’t quite Glados or John Marston in terms of fully realized characters, but given that a protagonist in a mobile game even has a character beyond his physical design is something to respect.
Bryan Heraghty · Nov 10, 2014 Reviewed on iOS, AndRead full review - The visuals are nothing short of lovely, crafted with care and detail. Sound design is rich and atmospheric, worth a pair of headphones. Leo's Fortune is a splendid platformer puzzler adventure, a treat for casual-midcore gamers of any age.
Janel Torkington · Jul 10, 2014 Reviewed on And - Even as a one-off experience, though, Leo's Fortune is an excellent platformer. The thumb-sliding controls fit tablet play perfectly, and the clever, gorgeous design is evident throughout. It's neither lengthy nor terribly challenging, but these complaints are outweighed by the joy of sliding through each beautiful level. Here's hoping Leo loses his gold again someday.
Mike Suszek · May 30, 2014 Reviewed on iOS - Leo’s journey to take back all of his gold is a fast paced, puzzling and enriching adventure that desperately screams “sequel.” Leo’s Fortune is conceptually, stylistically and mechanically one of the best iOS games on the market.
Bryan Dupont-Gray · May 11, 2014 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - There’s more to Leo’s Fortune than just those good looks everyone’s quick to point out, though they’re definitely the primary draw. Whether for the gameplay or the gorgeousness, this one definitely gets a recommendation.
Steven Strom · May 01, 2014 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Gorgeous visuals and established gameplay featuring great puzzles are wrapped inside a cohesive narrative that drives the entire game. As mentioned earlier, there isn’t a lot here in terms of sheer innovation, but the execution is so top notch there’s really no reason not to check it out.
Eric Ford · Apr 28, 2014 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - It will take players a little while to really breeze past the levels in Leo’s Fortune, but the added time only gives people more time to bask in the lush environments our hero has to fly through. The difficulty does build up the higher of levels you reach, but making your way through each course is a lot of fun to do.
Melissa Molina · Apr 28, 2014 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - In a market full of cheap clones and thinly-veiled cash grabs, it’s always nice to get a reminder of how there’s truly nothing keeping mobile games from being just as great as their console cousins. Leo’s Fortune is that next reminder.
