- Overall, KSP is an amazing space flight simulator, with some issues that keep it from being an amazing game as well. Through the physics, science, and controls, Kerbal Space Program will manage to give players hundreds of hours of addictive, rewarding gameplay. Technically, the game pushes consoles to their limit, resulting in frame rate drops despite the minimalist graphics.
Michael Chow · Jul 28, 2016 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Kerbal Space Program impressed PC gamers upon its final release last year and now console owners have gotten the opportunity to feel like they work for NASA. The extremely high level of difficulty at the start can be daunting for newcomers, but the level of detail and realism mixed into the building and flying segments make it well worth the time spent learning in Kerbal Space Program.
Dean James · Jul 22, 2016 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Kerbal Space Program exceeds expectation in every possible way. It goes without saying that a disclaimer of “Not For Everyone” is slapped over this game, and you shouldn’t come into this game thinking it’ll suit you because you like space. But it is undeniably victorious in its effort to capture the essence and wonderment of space exploration.
Matt Eakins · Jul 22, 2016 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Kerbal Space Program is just that, a program concerning space and the computations of getting a craft in space and making the trip alive. There is plenty of room for human error and it can also be a bit trial by error, but if it’s a genre that players can appreciate or get into, there isn’t anything quite like it on consoles.
Justin Celani · Jul 20, 2016 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Kerbal Space Program does the improbable: it makes learning a complex subject fun. Its cute, clueless characters and sense of humor turn a hardcore physics simulator into something replayable and addictive. Designing, flying, and then retrying missions again and again is a tough challenge that goes right up to the brink of frustration, but the eventual success of achieving virtual space flight is rewarding and even inspirational.
Seth Macy · May 14, 2015 Reviewed on PC, PS4Read full review - You will fail at this game. It will demoralize you and it will stress you out, but, more often than not, it will soothe, quiet, and inspire you. ...Even failure imparts a lesson. No matter how big or small the achievement, anything else that can be done is limited only by your imagination. Even with its cartoonish humor and quirks, Kerbal Space Program has an almost sacred respect for the tiny miracles involved in space travel, and even at its most difficult, it deserves that respect in return.
Justin Clark · May 08, 2015 Reviewed on PC, PS4, XB1Read full review - The game has attracted a passionate, talented, dedicated community of players and creators. ...My main fear of simulation titles is that I'll get bored. But, come to think of it, not once was I bored with Kerbal Space Program. I may have felt confused, and irritated, and hopeless at times, but those setbacks were fleeting. My desire to improve remains steadfast. Even the smallest accomplishments feel like massive victories, and once you experience that euphoria, you won't want to quit. Watch your ambition soar.
Jordan Devore · May 05, 2015 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Kerbal Space Program provides something for everyone: players who will never see a return voyage from “the Mun,” and those who delve into special resource gathering, landing, docking, and crew-out-of-ship activities. ...If you’re just looking to create unbelievable, ridiculous rockets with an impractical number of fuel pods, you can still have plenty of fun. Whatever your level of engagement, you can enjoy shooting these little green Smurfs into space – or into the nearby scenery.
Daniel Tack · May 04, 2015 Reviewed on PC - Kerbal Space Program is a brilliant game for a lot of reasons. It's brilliant because of the robust simulation, because of the satisfying design tools, because of the variety and options, and because of the spectacular community that has generated hundreds of mods, guides and videos designed to help you achieve whatever you want to do. Most of all, though, it's brilliant because it holds a mirror up to one of humanity's greatest achievements.... It's a rare and wonderful game, and deserves the strongest possible recommendation.
Phil Savage · May 01, 2015 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Kerbal Space Program is a fine game. It’s challenging, rewarding, appealing, hilarious, and it actually teaches you a lot about physics and space stuff. For those with an interest in space, it’s a go-to game, being so popular in the crowd that it’s even played by a lot of NASA staff. The amount of people who come to the forums and subreddit saying how they now understand terms like geostationary orbit and Hohmann transfer are staggering. If that’s what you’re looking for then look no further.
