- One of the most wonderful things about INSIDE, isn’t the beautifully realised animation of its protagonist, but in the realisation of the world you inhabit – LIMBO was colourless and almost flat, but INSIDE is full of colour, almost bleached, but it’s there.
Jon Clarke · Jul 16, 2019 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - If you loved Limbo then do not hesitate, just grab your Switch and buy Inside. For such a simple game, it is remarkable how much variation there is. Puzzles are expertly thought-out, the atmosphere is top-notch and its crammed full of memorable moments. It’s a stunning but desolate adventure that I urge you to try out. Even though it’s a short experience, it makes you consider what you have just gone through long after completion. It is one of the standout games in the Switch’s ever-growing library.
Jamie Ward · Aug 14, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - The tension pays off in a genuinely chilling way if you ever do succumb the brutal threats of Inside. If you miss a jump, the boy will crumple at the bottom of a pit with his limbs splayed out and broken. Grown adults are prepared to tackle him to the ground and beat him to death or drown him. Dogs on his tail will tear him apart if they get the chance.
Kirstie Summers · Jul 25, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - INSIDE may not feel all that new on Switch if you played it since its original release, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t deserve a place on Nintendo’s ever-growing list of wonderful ports. If you happen to own a Switch and have never played INSIDE before, I highly recommend picking it up and seeing what all the fuss is about.
Grady Penna · Jul 04, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - There are secrets to be found throughout the journey in order to unlock an alternate ending, so don’t be afraid to fight the constant urge to move right toward the end. Sometimes, it’s wise to try going left. Every so often you come across a game worthy of adding to the endless argument, “Are video games art?” INSIDE is one such game.
Scott Polhemus · Jun 29, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Inside very clearly builds upon what made Limbo great, and in fact builds something greater. Its unimaginable twist may leave you dumbfounded, confused, and quite possibly speechless, but it will fuel heated discussion with your friends about its meaning, its message, and its intentions. It’s a short ride, but one I felt compelled to take again – including a search for its mysterious hidden orb collectibles. Play it soon before anyone spoils a single big moment for you.
Ryan McCaffrey · Jun 28, 2018 Reviewed onRead full review - Inside is a richly detailed game that rewards players constantly, but in subtle ways. As such, it maybe doesn’t lend itself to mobile all too well, but can still pack a heck of a punch if you play it in the right conditions.
Campbell Bird · Dec 18, 2017 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - If you enjoyed Limbo (or similar trial and error puzzle games), chances are you didn't even need this review to smash the buy button- You'll really dig Inside. However, if you're like me and aren't really into the obtuseness of it all, there's a lot to like about it but I'm not sure I'd consider the game a must-have.
Eli Hodapp · Dec 14, 2017 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - In the end, I’ve no doubt INSIDE will end up being one of the most memorable experiences I’ve played this year. Its puzzles are expertly designed, its presentation staggeringly beautiful. Personally, I’m not sure its four hours of content are worth the $20 asking price, especially for an ending that leaves you with more questions than answers. As powerful as the puzzle about imitating everyone around you to hide in plain sight felt at the time, I’m not sure it really has anything to say that’s more meaningful than “conformity is something that exists”.
I. Coleman · Nov 07, 2016 Reviewed on PCRead full review - It's beautiful to look at, and the minimalist sound design complements the almost greyscale aesthetic perfectly. But beyond the technical proficiency on display, the true genius of Inside is in the feeling that it left us with once it was all over. This is a game that will probably stay in your thoughts for days once you've finished it.
