  • The game’s depth in fighting, story and customization options make it a worthy addition to not only any fighting gamer’s library – but demands to be tried by people of all tastes.

  • These games are consistently great, but there’s something to be said for franchise fatigue. I’d love to see Ed Boon’s team tackle a new universe or make something as off the wall as Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks once again. Until then, you pretty much know what you’re getting with one of these games, and that includes Injustice 2.

  • NetherRealm Studios has continued to evolve fighting games. Injustice 2 comes off as more of a RPG with the battle interface existing as a non-complicated fighting game. It’s a great way to learn about characters in the DC Universe as well.

  • In fact, my only real criticisms are of obtuse menus, comparatively long loads and the generally grimy style of the game. NetherRealm’s deliberate, heavy-feeling combat isn't the best in the genre, either, but it fits this kind of game perfectly. They sure know how to make an accessible, fun fighting game with lots to do, no matter your skill level.

  • The fights are fun and flashy, with nice depth for players willing to spend the time learning those nuances. But Injustice 2 also sets a very high bar for content variety in a way that opens up the game to people who might just be fans of DC's heroes and villains, too. If you're open to the idea of a fighting game, you're almost certain to find something worth liking.

  • The main story is not a prerequisite to enjoyment, and it can be played, albeit a bit slower, without spending wads of real cash. All in all, it is a better than decent follow-up to the original, and maybe even a potential gateway for new fans of the Injustice franchise.

  • Injustice 2 is one of the most complete fighting games you’ll ever play. From the story to the Multiverse Mode, there is something for everyone here to enjoy. And with how addictive the gear system is, you’ll be hard-pressed to put it down.

  • At the same time, if you're an enthusiast fighter and want a competitively viable game with a lot of depth to explore, Injustice 2 makes a strong case for itself. It's the full package in a market filled with fighters that have come out half-cooked. I plan on savoring it for months to come.

  • If there’s one word that comes to mind when I think of Injustice 2 as a whole, it’s dense. For a modern fighting game, Injustice 2 has a lot in it and it’s all incredibly well done. Sure there are some nitpicks that I could make as it pertains to my personal taste. Would I like to see more cinematic variety in the super moves, probably. Would it be better if they clarified which modes do or don’t use stat buffs for gear, yeah that would be nice too. But on the whole, there’s very little to complain about here.

  • Over my gaming career, despite my comparative lack of skill, fighting games have held a special place in my heart. But as I grew older, I wanted games with more depth, more things to do, and more than just tournaments and basic multiplayer components. The men and women of NetherRealm Studios are on my wavelength because Injustice 2 is the most content-rich fighting game I’ve ever played, the first one in ages to captivate me and keep me coming back for more.
