In Hydrophobia: Prophecy, impressive water simulation elevates an otherwise standard action game. It definitely entertains, and using the environment to creatively put down your enemies satisfies. Now, here's hoping the developers finally get working on parts two and three.

  • Hydrophobia Prophecy's visuals are impressive and generate the tense atmosphere that is the best part of the experience. The graphics are great, especially if you have a system powerful enough to run the new high-resolution textures and high-detail water. The game is also challenging; combat and puzzles must be approached with caution because slight mistakes can quickly result in death.

  • hat makes this less of a new, improved edition than the developers are making it out to be - but I suspect they were doomed from the start. A third-person action game boasting everything from puzzles to gunfights to exploration is a huge project to embark on, let alone one that successfully incorporates the most advanced water tech video games have ever seen

  • Hydrophobia falls short of its promise. It’s a wasted concept and it’s let down by lazy execution. It’s a shame that another intriguing concept has been squandered, but such is the life of an XBLA title. If you make the effort to play it as intended (using the environment rather than your pathetic pistol), kudos, but any other way will be painfully droll.

Eindelijk weer eens iets origineels.
