  Husk is a psychological horror game with broken combat and stealth systems that consistently undoes any sense of tension it tries so hard to build.

  UndeadScout has already provided patches to the game twice, helping improve a number of aspects of the game. I hope that this drive continues in the future, as I feel like Husk does need a bit of polish before it could stand on its own two legs. It’s an all too common trend to see games ship like this in this day and age, but fortunately, if UndeadScout is serious about making Husk a quality horror tile, a few more patches could do a lot to help tighten things up.

  With a host of mechanical and structural oddities breaking numerous points of immersion where it’s seldom gained — both before and after post-release updates — across environments that, though blended rather well into one another, could very well be found in ample other titles using horror as an attribute, Husk is a frustrating game to recommend.

  Husk is, for lack of a better word, a husk of a game. It has something in it, but not enough to really make it good. The themes and strong and twist is nice, but the gameplay and horror aspects suffer a lot from this.

  Tal vez no estemos ante un juego revelación. De hecho, toma tantos elementos de otros aparecidos en meses recientes (o no tan recientes) como Obscuritas o Layers of Fear que apenas impresiona. El juego tiene un apartado técnico muy resultón, pero algunos fallos técnicos y la mecánica algo inestable hacen que no llegue a más. Una lástima, ya que cuenta con un gran trasfondo.

  Por desgracia, es un juego que no podemos recomendar por completo en este momento, ya que todas sus virtudes (una buena ambientación, una historia interesante…) se pierden tras sus defectos (bugs, un sistema de combate que no funciona demasiado bien, un sistema de exploración que se limita a buscar objeto y a abrir puertas…).

  Au lieu du grand frisson, c'est l'ennui et l'agacement que nous offre Husk, sur ses 4 à 5 heures de jeu. Tout juste sont à saluer certaines bonnes idées, une atmosphère assez réussie, soulignée par un propos sombre et une bande originale de qualité. Malheureusement, ce sont des qualités trop maigre pour sauver le bateau du naufrage.
