- For a puzzle-specific game, Hexologic isn’t half bad. The game’s short length and its lack of any real challenge will no doubt deter player favor, though, in the face of its decent pace, its accessibility, and its constant introduction of new mechanics, these flaws are somewhat bearable. It’s a game that’s easy to recommend for what it gets right, but I would caution against picking this up if you’re simply looking to be tested.
Mark Sherwood · Jun 04, 2019 Reviewed on XB1Read full review - Hexologic is a puzzle/logic game that uses tile-based riddles to challenge the minds of its players. It's inspired by the popular paper and pencil game, Sudoku.
Alexandra Arici · Oct 30, 2018 Reviewed on AndRead full review - After playing so many highly tense puzzlers, Hexologic is a nice change of pace delivering a much more chilled experience that’s as easy to unwind with as it is to pick up. A lack of content might make this a rather short-lived experience but it’s one that feels fair for the low price it asks. The eShop may not exactly be short of puzzlers at the moment but Hexologic’s pleasant vibe and satisfying brainteasers are enough to make this cheaper release worth a look.
Ryan Janes · Jul 31, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - While Hexologic might not be as difficult as they'd have you believe it is still fun and relaxing even in small doses. We don't guarantee you'll have "long hours of fun", perhaps a handful of hours, but for the price of $2.99, you still get your money's worth even for a few hours of relaxed puzzle fun!
Scott Jeslis · Jul 13, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - If you enjoy the challenge of games like sudoku and nonograms, you’ll no doubt enjoy Hexologic’s clever, smartly presented contribution to the genre.
Maria Alexander · May 31, 2018 Reviewed on AndRead full review - Hexologic’s gameplay will feel familiar to anybody who’s ever completed a sudoku or a nonogram, but it’s a very worthwhile offshoot of that genre. It’s easy to grasp, satisfying to solve, absolutely gorgeous, and it provides a serious challenge at the sharp end.
Marc Hewitt · May 31, 2018 Reviewed onRead full review - A smart reimagining of the rules of Sudokuo, Hexologic is an approachable, easy to play puzzle game with a chilled aesthetic. There’s not a great amount of content here however, with the structured levels lasting just a few hours, but if like number puzzles and you’re looking for a fun way to fill an evening, Hexologic is worth a look.
Sean Davies · Mar 05, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Hexologic is a simplistic, relaxing puzzler that combines its calm music with some pleasing aesthetics and rewarding design. Whilst this does mean that it can be relatively easy to complete, it’s cheap and makes a nice companion to watching TV or listening to a podcast after a long day. At such a low price point, it’s hard to say no to another mobile game enhanced on the Switch.
Ethan Hunt · Jul 03, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Whether you’re a Sudoku enthusiast or a new player, Hexologic is a puzzle game that’s easy to pick up and learn. If you’re looking to pick your brains at clever numerical puzzles, this game will keep you busy with its wide selection. It may not be one to try and beat in one go, but it’s definitely worth picking up if you like your Sudoku with a twist.
Jake Durasamy · Jul 03, 2018 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - For what it is, Hexologic is a pleasant experience. I always feel weird discussing price in reviews, but since this game launched at $2.99 on Switch, expectations of what it should be need to be adjusted accordingly. At $3, Hexologic is a light, worthwhile experience. It’s not going to surprise you with oodles of content, but it’s a great foundation for a much deeper and longer lasting puzzler.
