  • Although this isn't the definitive version of the game due to the lack of split-screen play, Halo: Reach on the PC is a solid experience. The campaign retains the magic that Bungie prided itself on during its time with the franchise and the multiplayer. While the multiplayer in Reach is not as populous as the older entries, it often has more options to satisfy anyone's tastes.

  • An absolute blast to the past and a worthy re-visitation onto the PC, Halo: Reach jumpstarts a thrilling journey for both the campaign and multiplayer in the mouse-and-keyboard universe. With only more to be added as time comes by for The Master Chief Collection, one would be a fool to not invest their time and finger stretching for the prequel adventure that famously captured that alien vs. human warfare.

  • Reach on PC generally runs quite well and the mouse and keyboard controls will make it difficult for anyone to go back and play the game on console. For some Halo fans on PC, Reach may be 10 years too late, but others will have a great time playing through the campaign, battling it out in the online multiplayer arenas, and teaming up with friends to conquer Firefight.

  • Halo: Reach is exactly what fans wanted from a PC release from this iconic franchise. It takes an already great game and makes it better. While some new issues are added due to more precise controls, the tradeoff is…well, more precise controls. Add better and more crisp visuals on top and you’ve got easily the best version of Reach. PC players wait has been worth it, and there’s more to come.

  • If MCC maintains a large player base as the rest of the collection trickles out and crossplay with Xbox is enabled, the next golden age of Halo could be on the rise as we approach Infinite. I’m thrilled that the collection is in a phenomenal place on console, and with PC now being my platform of choice, I’m pumped to experience the remainder of it. Halo’s popularity has undeniably dwindled over the last decade, but it’s not dead yet. After all, Spartans never die. They’re just missing in action.

  • Halo: Reach is more of the same game, which is a great thing. It feels like a natural fit for the PC and runs great. There's a few issues with certain gamde mode loadouts and limited graphical options, but overall it's stellar.

  • As the Master Chief Collection expands, I expect I'll play Reach less and the first three Halos more. They all have great selections of multiplayer maps, and more importantly, the simplicity of no armor abilities and no loadouts. But it's exciting to come back to Reach after nearly a decade and find its multiplayer more fun than ever, in a port that bodes well for the rest of the series.

  • Halo: Reach has an engaging campaign and numerous multiplayer game modes to keep you pre-occupied. Unfortunately, various issues abound from technical woes and lack of options, to matchmaking problems, and it's hardly what you'd expect from the flagship FPS franchise's arrival on PCs. Like the protagonist's namesake, this effort is more of a "six" unless we see more patches down the line.

  • Like we hinted at earlier, however, Reach's campaign is better than ODST's. Not as much as we all had hoped, and not as good as the campaigns in the main Halo trilogy, but definitely an improvement over last year's installment. The story is a bit more meaningful. The characters are a tad more memorable. The scale is a lot more impressive. Most importantly, the levels are longer… you could finish ODST in 5-7 hours. Reach will last you the usual 8-10.

  • A likable if cliché ensemble cast and a well-told tale of a hopeless battle against overwhelming odds help make the Halo: Reach campaign Bungie's finest. The gunplay is great and very nicely varied, the new Armor Abilities give you plenty of ways to tackle most encounters, and your foes are as intimidating - and as lethal - as they've ever been. Aside from some minor technical hurdles like occasional slowdown, it looks great, and plays like the best parts of all four Halo games up until now.
