- Halo Infinite is finally out and rolling along, but it’s just not the masterpiece many of us hoped for to bring the series back to the top of multiplayer gaming. However, there are plenty of successful games today that had botched launches. While it’s important not to count Halo Infinite out just yet, there’s much work that needs to be done by 343 that it will probably take a couple years before the game feels complete and deserving of investment.
Kevin Foley · Dec 27, 2021 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Halo Infinite‘s multiplayer component is its biggest focus, and 343 absolutely nails the gameplay. Guns feel solid and fun to fire. Picking up secondary weapons and different attachments can dramatically change the course of a match while providing some variety.
David Carcasole · Dec 22, 2021 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Does Halo Infinite reignite that Halo passion? For the most part, yes! I will admit that there is a lot of frustration regarding the decisions in multiplayer and a rather static open world. However, the core gameplay experiences keep Halo Infinite fresh and one of the best first person shooters in years. Halo is back!
Kyle Nicol · Dec 17, 2021 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Halo Infinite is science-fiction storytelling at its best. The best thing about this entry is that it knows what it is. This is a story of a hero, and whether you self-identify with him or not, you’re going to immerse yourself in his resolve.
Azario Lopez · Dec 17, 2021 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Thanks to a stellar campaign that recapture the essence of Halo while also redefining the series' long-standing formula, and an insanely addictive multiplayer component that has all the pieces in place for improving even further as time goes on, Halo Infinite is one of the series' best outings in years, if not ever.
Shubhankar Parijat · Dec 14, 2021 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - A weak villain and the phantom pain of its cut content only holds it back from essentially being the best Halo game in the franchise. It's also very accessible for newcomers while still being hard to master. There's an ebb and flow to Halo Infinite's rhythm that perfectly balances exploration, combat and storytelling. It all synergizes in an experience that feels unique without alienating fans; feels familiar without retreading old ideas; and feels nostalgic without relying on the past. Halo is back, and I'm a happy kid again.
Sam Aberdeen · Dec 14, 2021 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - Halo Infinite is unmissable, whether you are a long-lasting fan of the series or a newcomer, this game is both a fitting continuation of the saga and an excellent starting point for one of gaming’s finest franchises.
Vednor · Dec 14, 2021 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Halo Infinite may be even better than it is today, but right now, it’s still one of the best games of 2021. After many years of trying to find its footing, Halo is back on solid ground. While in the long term, a series of this age will need to try innovating again, after years of struggling to find the right feel, letting players come home to a game that simply feels like a modern version of what they love was the right choice.
Andrew Thornton · Dec 13, 2021 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - If I had one piece of advice for people on the fence with Halo Infinite, it would be to not worry about the open world and embrace how it’s handled here. I was incredibly worried at first that 343 wouldn’t be able to resist the siren’s song of other major publishers, but the restraint here is appreciated. This is an extremely 2021 Halo, and I think it’s going to win over both lapsed players and diehards.
Chris Carter · Dec 12, 2021 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - At the moment Halo Infinite does not allow you to choose your modes, which is annoying. Instead, everything is on a random list that cycles through each match, which is ridiculous. I can understand this for Ranked but you should be able to choose what mode you want to play for everything else.
