- I realize the frequent comparisons to Forza 5 may be viewed as a bit of an unfair comparison, but they’re offered as a point of reference. Hardcore racing game enthusiasts looking for the most realistic driving experience on consoles will definitely want to investigate what Forza 5 offers; however, those still with PS3’s (and there’s plenty of you) are in for a treat. GT6 offers a roster of cars that borders on overkill, a wide variety of tracks and tried and solid gameplay.

It's certainly no slouch, but there's only so much room left for improvement, where an upgrade would finally mean moving to the most current edition. The Forza Motorsport series has been moving in the right direction for the last decade, whereas the Gran Turismo series seems like it's stagnating despite several minor improvements.
Nick Tan · Dec 18, 2013 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Overall, Gran Turismo 6 is the best racing simulator I've ever played. It is sleek, slim, fast, and fun like the most exciting cars in its inventory. It has so many features that it will certainly keep even the most keen of racing gamer busy for hundreds of hours. Honestly, I'm over the moon for this new addition to one of my favorite franchises. Quite literally over the moon.
Chris Urie · Dec 18, 2013 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Gran Turismo 6 is still a fantastic racing game. It feels like Polyphony improved on GT5 by streamlining most of the navigation while keeping the track selection fresh. Sure, the vehicle count may be padded with a slightly different car, but there’s still a ton of content for any racing sim fan to enjoy.
Drew Leachman · Dec 17, 2013 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - It's an entry that makes good on the promise of its PS3 predecessor, and restores a soul and energy to the series that has been missing of late. This release will make you fall in love with cars in a way that you never thought that you could, and that attribute — if nothing else — makes it the perfect celebration of an often outstanding series.
Gaz Plant · Dec 13, 2013 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - With all that said, I did have fun with the game until I got bored with it. The Career mode is vast, and difficult, and I lacked the patience to keep driving. Besides, I’d much rather slog it out in real life to reap real rewards, as opposed to earning a virtual car. Racing game fans will probably find themselves entertained for longer than I was, but please forgive me. I’m a girl. Cars just aren’t my thing.
Mary-Anne Lee · Dec 13, 2013 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - It's a shame that so much time is wasted simply looking for a race, because once connected, Gran Turismo 6 is blissful. Polyphony's latest may be burdened by familiar shortcomings, but Gran Turismo 6 reaches its greatest heights yet as a driving simulator. Seeing the light filtering through trees as I made a pass at wide open throttle, feeling the just-right feel of the nose of my car dipping under braking to get the front tire to bite and tuck into a perfect curve.
Garnett Lee · Dec 12, 2013 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Playing against friends reveals a peerless driving simulation, but you’ll need to work your way through the singleplayer....
Edge Staff · Dec 10, 2013 Reviewed on PS3 - It's those little niggles that make Gran Turismo 6 feel so incredibly dated compared to its rivals. Yes, it's nice to have that attention to detail poured into the physics simulation itself, but when the likes of Forza are heaping on the features, it's hard not to feel shortchanged by GT6's lack of vision. Maybe we'll see the makeover the series sorely needs when it inevitably hits the PS4, but until then, Gran Turismo 6 remains a fantastic simulation; it's just not a great game.
Joseph Barron · Dec 10, 2013 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Gran Turismo 6, at its simplest, takes the foundations of GT5 and improves upon them. Some areas have seen bigger shifts than others, with the AI and career difficulty the main sticking points for me. However, when there is so much content on offer, with a host of new cars and tracks, see major changes to the physics and graphics, and only promises more, it easily outweighs the existing flaws.
