    Playing Game Dev Story is a very passive experience, and that can be disappointing for many people. It won’t challenge you, and it doesn’t give rewarding feedback based on your skill. What it will do is let you chill out, sit back, and watch passionate pixel people work hard on games that get more polished, more beloved, and more successful. It’s a good reminder that sometimes you just need something simple and cute to pass the time.

    Despite this version of Game Dev Story taking some time to get used too, the addictive “just one more game” loop remains unchanged. The hook of this game is as compelling as it was when the game first released. If you’re after a passive yet engaging game to play on your PS4, this game is certainly worth your time.

    It’s a great achievement for a lone developer, but the choice of genre means that there are bigger games that do it better from larger companies. I can’t say that you should rush out and buy it, but if you don’t already have one of its competitors and want to help out a fledgling indie developer then it’s worth a look.
