  • From a distance, I can see why Full Throttle is a revered adventure game. It did some incredibly ambitious things from an audio/visual standpoint and its got a memorable cast and setting. That said, its not a particularly great-feeling adventure game, and a lot of the tricks it pulled back in the day aren't really highlighted in the remaster.

  • Full Throttle Remastered isn’t perfect – nor was the original Full Throttle – but it’s a great adventure game in its own right. If the name LucasArts fills you with nostalgic adventure gaming warm-and-fuzzies you should definitely check it out. Especially if you haven’t already.

  • The story is funny and intriguing. The gameplay mixes puzzles and fun action sequences well and the engaging story holds everything together. Full Throttle is a game everyone should have played at least once. If you still own a copy of the original Full Throttle then you probably do not need to buy the remaster. However, this being the first digital release makes this a worthy purchase. Full Throttle Remastered is still definitely worth your time.

  • As it stands, Full Throttle Remastered is a perfectly fine way to spend a couple evenings, but all the trappings of a 1995 video game are just under the surface for better or for worse. That’s guaranteed to be a selling point to some people and majorly off-putting to others. For myself? I think I might have enjoyed Full Throttle Remastered even more if I’d played with a guide open the whole time, like a joyride through the nostalgia of other people.

  • Full Throttle’s strengths are its story, characters, atmosphere, and art, not its puzzles. And, hey, sometimes that’s fine. I’ve replayed it more times than any other adventure game, which is likely a result of that sharper focus and pared-down interface. But I can totally see some people, particularly if they have no nostalgia for it, feeling short-changed.

  • Full Throttle Remastered is a no-nonsense package that does exactly what it sets out to do by updating the audiovisual experience whilst retaining the original game.

  • Full Throttle has a great cast of characters and atmosphere, but with its remaining irritating action and timed sequences, bland puzzles, and an unnecessary fresh paint job, the game carries its old flaws to a new generation, and ushers some new ones in as well. Luckily, with the seamless swap to its already-fantastic original pixel art (whose immense detail is commendable, even in 2017), clicking through Full Throttle's charming love letter to wheels is still pleasant.

  • Sometimes a puzzle in Full Throttle Remastered is really clever, deserving a smile of accomplishment occasionally. But some puzzles end up with you just clicking around until you figure it out

  • All in all Full Throttle is an enjoyable, yet short experience. I beat the game in approximately 5 hours. If you are a fan of point and click adventure games, then you owe it to yourself to play Full Throttle. It’s one of the classics of the genre, and the new remastered version is the best way to experience it.

  • There’s no getting around that Full Throttle is a 22-year-old adventure game and still plays like it. The puzzles are occasionally frustrating. Your character moves at a slow pace, and some of cultural humor is outdated. Still, the quirks of the original game are as attractive today as they were then, and this version does a fine job smoothing out the rough edges, making Full Throttle Remastered a road trip worth taking.
