  Frozen Synapse Prime is a seriously addictive handheld title that’ll keep you coming back to tweak your plans for just one last sortie. Before long, you’ll have lost hours directing your troops and listening to its superb soundtrack, and while some will lack the patience to tackle the more diabolical campaign scenarios, the skirmish and multiplayer modes will keep any armchair Generals firmly in the frontline.

  Prime’s simultaneous turn structure makes for a tense experience that’s both intelligent and rewarding. It deftly avoids the tedium that can sometimes plague strategy games, but still provides incredible depth for those with the patience to enjoy it. Find some friends, create some matches, and embrace a thinking man’s mobile tacitcs game.

  At times it can be extremely frustrating, especially early on whilst you adapt to what is needed to succeed and for the controls click, but when you do get your head around it the game becomes that much more enjoyable as you plot your paths around to victory. Much of the joy comes from out-thinking your opponent and when your unorthodox path around the arena catches the opposition out and yields a well though out plan. The game is reliant on a lot of luck, but perseverance and shrewd scheming really becomes satisfying.

  Frozen Synapse Prime marries classic turn-based action with thoughtful design like turn previews and asynchronous multiplayer. Graphics can be bland, and design frustrations wear at the experience, but it's a satisfying strategy romp made better with friends.

  Frozen Synapse gehört zu den wenigen Spielen, das ich gerne auf einem Handy gespielt hätte – meins ist leider zu schwach dafür. Doch die späte Vita-Umsetzung entschädigt mich. ...Ärgerlich, dass die undurchsichtige Steuerung ein langes Einarbeiten verlangt und die Geschichte in überladenen Textfenstern erzählt wird. Doch das sind kleine Hürden beim Genuss dieses feinen Cyberkrimis!

  La versione PlayStation 3 di Frozen Synapse Prime risulta purtroppo meno affascinante e divertente dell'originale per PC, non potendo contare sull'immediatezza dei controlli ibridi visti su PlayStation Vita e incastrandosi fra le pieghe di un'interfaccia eccessivamente invasiva, lenta, spesso poco leggibile (colpa anche del mediocre restyling grafico), ulteriormente appesantita da caricamenti frequenti e abbastanza lenti.

  Un gioco di strategia brillante, con missioni sempre varie e impegnative, capace come pochi mettere il giocatore in totale controllo della propria tattica lasciando comunque un certo margine all'indeterminazione e all'imponderabile. Le partite, offline e online, sono sempre cariche di tensione e hanno il non secondario merito di lasciare davvero poco al caso.
