  • Frostpunk: On The Edge is pretty much the final curtain for the Frostpunk adventure. The game has enticed us from start to finish, be it the base game, or its different expansions. The On The Edge expansion takes us back to the basics, but showed us the possibility of surviving in a world where we weren’t the last ones left. We loved the execution, the concept and the overall new mechanics. If you have followed this title from the start, then you’ll certainly enjoy this final call to the snowy fate of our planet.

  • Frostpunk: On The Edge may be a little short and the morality choices unbothered by consequences, but the message of hope rang loud and clear from the developers. A fantastic expansion that players can one-shot within a single sitting if they play their cards right, Frostpunk: On The Edge offers an uplifting conclusion to the groundbreaking society survival simulator.

  • Overall, On The Edge is an enjoyable Frostpunk DLC. If you own the season pass, it’s definitely worth playing through. If you don’t, we highly recommend you pick up The Last Autumn instead. On The Edge is not bad and still delivers a lot of good gameplay challenges but The Last Autumn felt a lot more polished throughout. As such, it still gets a recommendation from us but only if you really want to squeeze more out of your Frostpunk adventure.

  • I’ll honestly miss Frostpunk - its unique combination of narrative and strategy has made it one of the most memorable city-builders for many years. It feels like many reference the tough choices as being Frostpunk’s most memorable aspect, but for me, it’s atmosphere - and I get that’s maybe ironic for a game about an apocalyptic weather anomaly.

  • On the Edge, the final Frostpunk DLC, offers one more challenging, and gripping strategy title that genre fans will love. When compared to The Last Autumn, it feels a bit limited in the things one can do when giving it a second try, and it's also not as original as you might have hoped, but it's still a solid recommendation to anyone who found the base game to be one of the best in its field.
