  • Forza Motorsport 4 is a big step forward from Forza Motorsport 3 in almost every way. The only flaw is the nonadjustable, overaggressive AI that occasionally makes the game overly frustrating. The pros far outweigh the single con though, and this is the new standard for racing sims.

  • Forza 4 might not be the revolutionary step that many people look for in a game sequel, but it is certainly a strong evolutionary step. While it most certainly has a few flaws, the sum of Forza’s parts makes for the most incredible driving experience available on a console today.

Like the step up from FIFA 11 to FIFA 12, there's no going back to Forza 3 now. The changes and updates are too welcome and widespread. The improved visuals, the added cars on track, the wealth of new race types, the tweaked AI and closer racing, the ferocious sound and superior sense of speed, the even better livery editor, the lot. With Forza 4 Turn 10 has crafted a driving game like no other; it's hands-down this generation's premier racing simulator.

  • While marketing teams reveled in the game's most casual features, Forza Motorsport 4 has gone not only broader but much deeper as well. The glossy exteriors are truly matched by a beast under the hood, and while it isn't the end-all, be-all of racing games, it's the best at what it does.

  • It's still a beautiful game and it's probably the world's best driving simulator, at least for consoles, but a lot of Forza 4's changes feel incremental at best. The game includes many of the same tracks found in previous installments, and I found myself getting a very "annual sports game update" vibe off of it. With that in mind, it seems like the game's most die-hard fans and people who didn't play the previous Forza will get the most out of Forza 4.

  • Turn 10 already had a fantastic racer with Forza 3, but they somehow managed to add more even features and polish to this sequel, and the end result is a game that seems to have covered every base perfectly. They've also managed to add something else that you'll never see as a bulletpoint on a box: personality. Forza 4 is so much more lively, and it shows so much more character than its predecessor.

  • Racing games have always strived to strike that balance between being a virtual showroom for car lovers (see the well-done and informative Autovista mode for that) and actually being fun, compelling experiences. Forza 4 successfully bridges this gap and is the racer you’ve been waiting for.

  • Turn 10 Studios has once again performed a spectacular job with the presentation with much of the credit going to the lighting effects. This is complemented by the wide variety of driving experiences and includes a fully equipped multiplayer mode that performs superbly under good connections. It’s also a fine ride for anyone who wants to unlock everything in World Tour. It may not have the most cars, but it’s certainly the most enjoyable driving simulation experience you’ll find this year.

  • If you do know what camber is, prepare yourself for an amazing exercise in skill, precision, and talent. The very metal of your driving mettle will be tried, tested and forced to endure grueling and demanding challenges, and you'll love every minute of it.

  • Like even the very best new cars, Forza 4 doesn't reinvent the wheel, but rather it refines and improves upon what came before it. That's no small achievement given how truly special Forza 3 was, and if you're still playing that game, there's a good chance you'll still be enjoying this one two years from now.
