- The manager might not be able to control the player of his choice on the field of play like in other sims but they do design the game tactics and train the players so the final product will be totally evident while watching the on field performances. This game is mildly different from the previous FM game and that’s because it is very difficult to improve something that is already great. If you love the game of soccer, go out and get a copy of Football Manager 2020. It’s that good.
Howie Howard · Dec 04, 2019 Reviewed on PCRead full review - It’s a hard sell for those who don’t like the more tactical side of football, but it’s an addictive experience for those who do. I’m more than ready to spend literal thousands of hours in this iteration, trying to achieve something as ludicrous as taking Solihull Moors from the Vanarama National League to the UEFA Champions League or qualifying Suriname to the World Cup.
Leo Faria · Nov 28, 2019 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Due to its extensive range of options and the amount of challenge provided, the highs that can be achieved from being successful in Football Manager 2020 Touch are that much greater than last year’s iteration. And thanks to newly added features to improve the youth team, and a much wider set of goals from the club, that success feels more dynamic than ever before. Football Manager 2020 Touch proves that the series is more than the stuffy old manager with the same ideas that always work; it’s also a young and exciting manager ready to innovate.
Stan Cohen · Nov 22, 2019 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Subtle changes in the backroom and the boardroom have a surprisingly invigorating effect on what was already a series in fine form. There’s now real gratification in being a mid-table over-achiever, and entering Football Manager 2020 as a total beginner is a more realistic prospect than before.
Phil Iwaniuk · Nov 18, 2019 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Football Manager 2020 isn’t radically different from FM 19. If you were hoping for a huge overhaul from last year, you’ll be disappointed. Equally, if you get bored of a save after two or three seasons and start a new one, the benefits of these new features will be lost on you. FM 20 is more than just a DLC pack for FM 19, though. It’s more immersive, experimental, and enjoyable thanks to its suite of big and small changes.
Tom Power · Nov 14, 2019 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Football Manager 2020 continues the series' winning formula, but there's still plenty of aspects that need work alongside overpowered tactics and methods to win games.
Ford James · Nov 14, 2019 Reviewed on PCRead full review - If you can afford the time though, this year's game is absolutely worth your attention, particularly if long-term saves are your thing. There's scope to play for countless seasons and still be presented with fresh challenges, and the new Development Centre system makes building for the future more compelling than ever. It's Football Manager with a substantially greater dose of longevity, and that both delights and terrifies me at the same time.
Fraser Gilbert · Nov 14, 2019 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Football Manager 2020 is the purest, most engrossing and also the most accessible football management game yet and marks yet another high point for the series. From improved accessibility and usability to improved AI and long-term gameplay functions in new features like the development centre & club vision, this is a game that takes a longer more realistic look at the beautiful game than any before it. Slight issues still prevail, but this is the closest to perfect the series has ever been.
Chris Wray · Nov 14, 2019 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Football Manager is still the ultimate football simulation series, and this latest addition makes enough positive changes to keep the gameplay fresh, and improve on some of the minor frustrations of previous entries. With a better UI, enhanced match engine, and some high-quality decisions around player motivations, it is easier than ever to get sucked into hundreds of hours of addictive gameplay. Football Manager 2020 is the perfect game for spending long days in quarantine, as the time will fly by.
Chris Leebody · Apr 10, 2020 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Overall, Football Manager 2020 has a variety of additions that we think are good news for those who want to play for the long haul thanks to the emphasis on long-term planning and rewards. This simulation becomes increasingly complex, but it can also become simpler, depending on the path you take. Finally, we also want to note our appreciation of Sports Interactive's move to deliver environmentally friendly packaging. This year's Football Manager innovates in all the right places and we like the new-found flexibility it offers.
