  • Should you Download Shoot That Bird? If you’re tired of the ridiculous addictive tapping gaming mechanics of Flappy Bird and want some Duck Hunt style vengeance then give Shoot That Bird a try.

  • Its designs appeared to have been taken almost directly out of previously existing titles and, ultimately, Flappy Bird was a shallow, flash-in-the-pan smartphone anomaly that we're not going to miss.

Flappy Bird isn't a good video game. It's arguably not even a fun one. But its no-frills approach and exacting, relentlessly repetitious gameplay make it an addictive short-term distraction for the skill and score-obsessed. It's a bird that sings only one note, and though it sings it well, it does so while flying needlessly low to the ground.

  • Flappy Bird is simultaneously everything that’s right and wrong about video games. You’ll play it, you’ll obsess over it, but you’ll never really like it. Still, as the first real hit for Vietnam based .GEARS (pronounced dotGEARS), it’s a hell of an icebreaker.

  • Since Flappy Birds is free, you have nothing to lose by trying it to see what the fuss is about. Just don’t be surprised if you don’t find anything worthwhile here. There’s nothing wrong with a game being simple, but there’s no reason to keep playing it when there are much better free games out there.

  • Flappy Bird is so simple it can barely be graded by our site’s review rubrics. I’m not sure it even deserves to. Yet it achieved what many modern, triple A games have failed to: it has kept people playing.

  • This is a game that is as long as you have patience and/or nothing better to do. In my case, it was a matter of minutes. Half a star for at least having the decency to not have any microtransactions; half a star for its undeniably addictive nature. The remaining four stars are off playing something better.

  • All in all Flappy Bird stinks of a cheap money grab. From the completely unoriginal gameplay to the nearly absent soundtrack, there is no reason why you should play this game. The art is the only positive aspect of the entire game, but it is nothing you have not seen before. There is no one who I would recommend this game to.
