  • With its comfy story and lovable characters, a soundtrack that speaks to my soul, and an intimidating amount of secrets to uncover, it’s an experience time won’t soon forget. I still get a little wet in the eyes during the ending. Its quality is indisputable. The Pixel Remaster doesn’t meaningfully detract from the original’s inherent prowess, and its arranged soundtrack and added features are welcomed niceties.

  • It's a thrill ride of an RPG and remains one of the most brilliantly-paced installments in the entire series. Combine that with such an endearing cast, deeply engaging gameplay, some amazing sprite work, and a stunning soundtrack, and you've got an all-time classic.

  • Final Fantasy VI is a highly popular 2D pixel-art JRPG first released in 1994. This mobile version features the original epic story and turn-based combat, but with remastered controls and art.

  • The variety and the pace, combined with the many characters in the game, are what still make Final Fantasy VI a gem. There were not many moments that we got bored during the game at all, and it’s a huge improvement compared to I, II, and III. Especially if you haven’t done VI before, it might be a great idea to get this one. There’s a very high chance you will not regret it. There’s amazing music, a good story, and just the overall enjoyment you’ll get from playing this one.

  • Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster is the return of a classic any fan of the RPG genre should experience at least once. While these remasters still feel like the bare minimum that such classic games deserve, this is an excellent opportunity to feel the magic of Final Fantasy.

  • Final Fantasy VI is easily the “crown jewel” of the pixel remaster releases given how much effort Square Enix put into it comparatively, and is certainly now the definitive version of the game to play. I honestly wish it hadn’t taken me as long as I had to play FFVI because I think it stands as one of my all-time favorite Final Fantasy games! I wholeheartedly recommend playing it if you haven’t yet, as fellow newcomers to the title can’t go wrong with giving this version a try. Final Fantasy VI is a true classic with all the positive connotations of the word.

  • These Pixel Remasters have been wonderful treats for longtime fans and incredibly welcoming to an all-new generation of players going on these adventures for the first time. I wouldn’t call these the definitive ways to experience the games due to the lack of additional content that came with previous versions of the titles, but they are by far the most approachable and easily accessible today. With the helpful tips, additional healing points, and fancy features, they are great versions for folks to sink their teeth into, but I’d also recommend moving onto the GBA versions of FF5 and FF6 after and the PSP version of FF4 if they want more.

  • Final Fantasy VI is still a classic and one of the best in the franchise, now with orchestrated music and redone pixel art. It still retains the issues of the rest of the Pixel Remasters, but does have a bit of extra visual spice on top to make them hurt less.

  • It’s a bit too easy to break the game’s challenge, and it’s easy to lose the differentiating factors between the characters once the magic system comes fully into play. But even its flaws aren’t enough to bring down the overall experience all that much. This is on the short list of absolute must-play JRPGs.

  • I don’t need much justification to revisit Final Fantasy VI. If you’re a Final Fantasy fan, this is grade A, top shelf stuff. Full of weird minigames, memorable characters, and a compelling story, VI is an excellent RPG. If you’ve never played it before, you’d be an absolute fool to pass this up. Even if you’ve bought it several times already, I still recommend the game. Square Enix has tried to make the definitive version of this game, and I’d say they more or less succeeded.
