  • With a lean towards creating the most thrilling multiplayer sports title to date, FIFA 12 has overlooked those looking to escape into the world of football on their own. The game still looks amazing and it still provides an authentic footballing experience but the bells and whistles that should be present in the single player experience are severely lacking.

  • But, still, these issues often get swallowed up in the enormity of FIFA 12. There’s so much content, so much flexibility, so much dynamism that it’s hard to gripe too much. Tweaked mechanics and game modes aside, the defining achievement of FIFA 12 lies in the ways individual players change the contours of the game.

  • FIFA 12 is staggering not just because it's comprehensive, but also because it's so cohesive. Modes, campaigns and features overlap each other, giving you a focused sense of progression and a variety of things to enjoy. But underneath all that — beneath the on-pitch action, gorgeous presentation and freedom to experience play as you wish — there's a love for the sport that's affectionate and intoxicating.

  • So for the most part, FIFA 12 is a great update to the longstanding franchise. With some new online modes, tighter dribbling control, and a new procedural animation engine, the game can feel more like real-life at times. While the new defensive control scheme is certainly a bold move, it is a double-edged sword that may alienate veteran players at first. It does grow on you over time, but prepare to set aside some time to learn the new system.

  • More realistic pacing, in-depth controls both on and off the ball, enhanced online and offline experiences, and the ability to constantly share your passion for all things soccer combine to make FIFA 12 the complete package. It’s an addictive, entertaining, and downright awesome entry in the legendary FIFA franchise that fans of the sport simply shouldn’t miss.

  • The best additions this year are bits of the unexpected, something almost never achieved in sports video games. FIFA 12 delivers enough of those flashes of brilliance to feel a little less like a game, and more like a true soccer simulator.

  • FIFA Soccer 12 is by far one of the best virtual representations of the sport that I have ever played. It definitely seems that EA Canada took the criticisms from last years version to heart and retooled many aspects of the game. The end result is a great playing game of soccer that feels so right. This game is a must buy for any FIFA fan and Sports fan alike as there is a lot of depth, gameplay and fun to be had here.

  • It's easy to recognise your favourite players as they line up on the pitch, with official licences ensuring they sport the right kit too. And with the addition of the player impact engine, animations are more realistic than they've ever been. Excellent online modes and improved player handling further cement FIFA 12 as football at its best--gloriously deep, rewarding, addictive, and as close as you can get to the real thing without donning a pair of boots.

  • In many ways it is leaps ahead of previous years’ games, but another year in the oven will help EA Sports perfect some of the small annoyances, namely the A.I. and minor physics-related glitches. Soccer (football) fans should set aside plenty of time to re-learn FIFA, because it’s truly worth your money and effort. FIFA Soccer 12 represents the next chapter in sports games, and its beginning is remarkable.

  • For me, playing each match of FIFA 12 requires more concentration and thumb dexterity than any action or platformer game. Every button on the controller can make a difference to your attack or defense at almost any given time; any direction or weight on the analog stick can affect the outcome of that defense-splitting pass or attack stopping tackle, and that in itself proves how thoroughly engaging this beautiful game can be.

FIFA 12 brings to the pitch the game-changing new Player Impact Engine, a physics engine built to deliver real-world physicality in every interaction on the pitch. Experience the way real-world footballers challenge each other for the ball and test each other physically. Revolutionary gameplay innovations make FIFA 12 deeper and more engaging. All-new Precision Dribbling creates a higher fidelity of touch on the ball for better control in tight spaces and more control over the pace of the game. Defending has been re-designed to make it as skilful and meaningful as real-world ootball with all-new Tactical Defending. CPU players have been infused with Pro Player Intelligence, a self-awareness that gives them the aptitude to understand the strengths and weaknesses of teammates in every situation on the field. FIFA 12 delivers an authentic Match Day experience, faster and easier navigation, and over 500 officially licensed clubs.
