- F1 23 falls short in the same areas as its predecessors have over many years. There's a great single player experience let down by a completely neglected multiplayer, which brings the games longevity into question. Those who love the F1 games regardless will find this iteration to at least be better in some ways.
Dan Rice · Jul 20, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - F1 World provides a lot of the structure and progression that is usually served by the career mode, but this feels more bite-sized. Sure, you can pour hours into the mode and complete multiple series in one sitting, but you can also spend 30 minutes to knock out a stage or two and go about your day. All the while, you're earning Podium Points for your overall profile and more parts and resources to improve your F1 World car.
Tony "OUberLord" Mitera · Jul 04, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - There’s no doubt that the F1 series feels like a yearly iterative experience, but Codemasters has done an outstanding job with F1 23 because it improves upon last year’s title in almost every way. The increased accessibility options, enhanced driving mechanics, and welcome return of the Braking Point story mode are all steps in the right direction for the Formula 1 gaming community.
Henry Yu · Jun 26, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - F1 23 is a case of evolution rather than revolution. It improves many aspects of its predecessor, most notably the feel of controller play and car physics that represent real-life Formula One as well as any game has. There’s still areas to improve, but only the most finicky F1 fan won’t be impressed by the exceptionally immersive racing experience Codemasters have created.
Joe Craven · Jun 26, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - Overall, F1 23 is a strong return to form for Codemasters. F1 23 excels at providing a diverse and exciting racing experience for players of all kinds, and steers away from the predatory practices that were starting to seep in with F1 22. It's well worth playing on its own, and is hopefully a sign of even greater things to come in the future.
Rob Gordon · Jun 26, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - It's churlish to gripe about the lack of classic cars, but, seriously, I can't think of anything else to complain about. I've really tried to look, honest. F1 23 is an astonishingly good racing game, and the return of Braking Point only helps to seal the deal. This is Codemasters at the top of its game once again, and, yes, F1 23 is up there with the very best the studio has mustered in the past. There's little, if anything, here not to like.
Richard Walker · Jun 17, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - F1 23 covers a lot of bases. The 2023 version offers a variety of ways to play the game depending on your skill level and preferences. It is a good iteration for newcomers to jump into and the greater depth of options will satisfy the needs of veterans.
Lou Sytsma · Jun 16, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - With the new handling model, Braking Point 2 and F1 World, F1 2023 has the fresh coat of paint the series has needed for some time. For the first time in a while, I can see myself dusting my wheel off and racing rather than settling for just commentating.
Peter Russell · Jun 16, 2023 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - With Braking Point 2 aboard, F1 23 is a far heartier package than F1 22. However, while the new F1 World mode is packed with activities, its loot-based upgrade system may split fans.
Luke Reilly · Jun 15, 2023 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - F1 23 is a solidly packed racing experience that improves upon its predecessor in almost every way. With a little something for everyone, on top of an immersive and impressive experience on PS5, it's a worthwhile addition to the libraries of enthusiasts and casuals alike. We loved how tailormade the game could become, whether that was a heavily assisted racing experience, or a brutally immersive one.
