  Expeditions: A MudRunner Game è un’esperienza unica nel suo genere, la perfetta evoluzione del franchise dopo l’esordio di MudRunner e la consacrazione di SnowRunner. Il titolo di Saber Interactive si presenta solido e bello da giocare, spingendo il giocatore in sfide via via sempre più complesse, ma che sapranno ripagare chiunque decida di accendere il motore e partire per territori brulli e inesplorati. Certo, l’esperienza non è perfetta e adatta a tutti, con alcuni limiti di gameplay che si fanno sentire, ma mi sento di consigliarlo a tutti coloro che, armati di pazienza e bramosi di scoperta e pianificazione, cercano un’esperienza vasta, impegnativa e allo stesso tempo estremamente rilassante. Perché Expeditions: A MudRunner Game è anche questo. Si può passare tempo ad attraversare con fatica e concentrazione montagne e fiumi impetuosi, per poi ritrovarsi al tramonto in riva ad un lago a spegnere il motore del veicolo, ammirando il terreno appena domato e lanciando un occhio di sfida verso le nuove vette da raggiungere.

  Como su propio nombre indica, es un juego mucho más centrado en las expediciones y la exploración que sus predecesores, algo que gustará a algunos y disgustará a otros. Aun así, nos ha parecido un juego muy entretenido incluso con sus carencias.

  Considering how much of challenge there can be in Expeditions: A MudRunner Game, there’s no denying it is a consistently rewarding and satisfying game to play. The three areas on offer are huge but packed with interesting terrain to traverse and conquer, and there are more objectives to tackle than you could ever realistically need. The non-driving parts are a let-down but are brief enough to not sour things too much over all. A niche-but-worthwhile experience awaits those who are willing to tackle the wilds.

  As it stands, there is something missing from Expeditions: A MudRunner Game. Whether that be the online co-op (due out later), a lack of meaningful activity in Free Roam or just something to spice up the lifeless main campaign; it feels a bit empty right now. The actual driving is fun and can even be calming at times, as you go navigating the tough terrain and getting into a rhythm, but the environments mirror the wider issues, being bereft of anything meaningful. After just a few missions in each location, you have pretty much seen everything the game can offer, and will be left waiting for the next bit of meaty content to arrive.

  Expeditions: A MudRunner Game succeeds in being a more varied, interesting and accessible entry in Saber’s Runner series, although it’s still on the challenging side and has niche appeal. We’ve had a great deal of entertainment from it though, and will continue to do so — it’s 70-plus expeditions present a seriously considerable time investment. With DLC and a co-op mode to come, it’s likely to get even better, too. Ultimately, it’s not for everyone. But for those who dream of navigating harsh environments in an assortment of vehicles, it’s a blast.

  At its best, Expeditions offers more of the absorbing, slow, and high-risk driving that made MudRunner and SnowRunner such cult successes. It's a clever formula that now has slightly more user-friendly packaging, making it easier than ever to get into. There are still wrinkles, in particular with visual performance, and there's no doubt that this remains a niche that not all petrolheads will love, but if you're on the lookout for something a bit more zen, it's another great entry in the series.
