- There really isn’t a ton to Escape Goat 2 on the surface. In fact, you can complete the main “story” levels in about 90 minutes. Aside from some of the last stages, these aren’t even that challenging -- where the real difficulties come from are the 50+ bonus levels you start to unlock towards the end that really push your knowledge of the game.
Ben Pack · Apr 08, 2014 Reviewed on PCRead full review - My science class didn't have access to goats with magical helper mice, but I'd like to think that Escape Goat 2 would have gotten a passing grade. Maybe not an A+, but something worth posting on the refrigerator, nonetheless.
S. Prell · Apr 04, 2014 Reviewed on PC - There's nothing especially unique about Escape Goat 2 aside from its protagonist, but it thrives due to its masterful execution of puzzles, simple controls, and a kind learning curve. Even some of the game's easier solutions make you feel smart for discovering them. The easier, mainline puzzle path may be over quickly, but if you're interested in finding every secret and solving even the most diabolical trials, you can milk a lot of fun out of this goat.
Britton Peele · Mar 28, 2014 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The entire time I was playing Escape Goat 2, I was talking to myself. "What if I tryâ¦" I would muse, as I launched my goat into thin air. "Oh, I get it!" And when I eventually worked out the solution to a room and hit the exit, I was practically high-fiving myself. It feels like the product of painstaking, iterative design, and that hard work paid off. Escape Goat 2 made me feel like some kind of genius — and I loved it for that.
Danielle Riendeau · Mar 25, 2014 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The major upgrade from Escape Goat to Escape Goat 2 is the aesthetics. Everything from the music, art style and writing hits the mark with flying colors. Ian Stocker provides a soundtrack perfect for a puzzle platformer, one where the songs never get tiring and fit the themes of each unique world. A great combination of art design and music composition escalate the atmosphere surrounding the platforming mechanics.
John Eustice · Mar 24, 2014 Reviewed on PCRead full review - With a gorgeous soundtrack and its sublime design Escape Goat 2 is the kind of 2D puzzle platformer that made me feel warm and fuzzy inside - like a mug of hot tea with a jam crumpet. Sure, it won’t last long in the memory like Braid or Fez, neither will it be a classic in the same league as Super Meat Boy but Escape Goat 2 does deserve the same sort of praise - it’s a superbly designed and exquisite experience that’ll entertain and enthral through all of its short playing time.
