  • Unfortunately, a number of greedy design decisions significantly mar what would have otherwise been a superb video game.

  • Make no mistake, Dungeon Hunter 5 is knee-deep in its freemium systems and it’s not going to make any converts of those that are staunchly against such elements. However, for those others willing to engage with what it offers in the environment that it offers it in, I believe you’ll have a good time. The visuals are impressive, presentation is top-notch and all the game’s systems are fairly mature in implementation.

  • I applaud Gameloft for continuing to tinker with this series so it doesn’t get too stale, but the combination of less characters classes, little control over your gear and an uninspiring PvP element combine to knock Dungeon Hunter 5 down a peg.

  • There are some annoying bits, like the fact you can't buy healing potions, and the whole thing is essentially one mindless slog, but that's basically what you'd expect from a free to play mobile dungeon crawler. Dungeon Hunter 5 is fine. And that's fine.

About the game

After stopping the demon invasion in the Kingdom of Valenthia, the world remains shattered, crumbling at its very core -- destruction and desolation seeping from its wounds -- but even when we try to rebuild, things never go back to how they once were... Now, things are different.

Developer: Gameloft
