- Dredge boasts addictive inventory management in a not-so-cozy, otherworldly fishing experience. The game's surreal story kept us guessing thanks to mysterious characters, Lovecrafting undertones, and a constant, creeping fear of the dark.
Wessel Minnie · Sep 11, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - The strange combination of cosy fishing game and untold horrors make DREDGE an atmospheric and ultimately fun experience that can draw you in for hours. Some minor pacing issues and overly-linear progression don’t stop this from being a worthy addition to your switch collection. Just make sure to keep an eye on the depths…
Max Olds · May 21, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - DREDGE is a one-of-a-kind fishing game with an interesting premise that keeps players engaged throughout. Though its ending leaves something to be desired, DREDGE shines in its ability to create an enveloping atmosphere through its appealing art, well-composed music, and entertaining gameplay.
Kate Karkkainen · Jan 19, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - DREDGE: The Pale Reach is a welcome addition to the excellent Lovecraftian fishing adventure that adds a new biome with its dark mystery to investigate, ice fish to catch, and equipment to try out. It's polished, challenging in all the right ways, and doesn't outstay its welcome. If you've been itching to dive back into the world of DREDGE, this is the perfect excuse to do so.
Ali Hashmi · Nov 14, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Dredge is an indie horror gem that will be looked upon fondly by anyone with an affinity for adventure and mystery. Every part of the game is engaging and otherworldly, yet distinctly down to earth. From the charming low-poly graphics, to the deeply emotion-invoking soundtrack, to the heartfelt story, Dredge understands how to make the player feel immersed in its dark yet beautiful world.
Jackson Lustberg · Aug 12, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Dredge has no right to be as good as it is, but it effectively plays to its strengths and mixes solid systems with a strong theme. If you're not into fishing or Lovecraft, Dredge won't be your cup of tea. However, if either even slightly tickles your fancy, I can almost guarantee that you'll have a blast delving into the twisted mysteries of Dredge — and you'll even make a decent buck with mutant fish while you're at it.
Andreas Salmen · Jun 07, 2023 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Dredge is a unique experience that offers entertaining fishing and sailing mechanics which work rather fluidly. Both fans of the horror genre and more relaxing titles will find their thing here. Although the game’s mechanics are relatively simple, the game doesn’t overstay its welcome, capping out at around nine hours for the main story.
Noparg · Apr 26, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Dredge is much more than a fishing game: it’s an action RPG, a mystery story, and a gift that keeps on giving. It’s unforgiving and ghastly but also addictive and great in small portions. It feels great on the Switch, and I can only applaud Black Salt Games for this debut.
Denis Koshelev · Apr 24, 2023 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Dredge is a single-player fishing adventure with a sinister undercurrent. Captain your fishing trawler to explore a collection of remote isles, and their surrounding depths, to see what lies below.
Gabriel Moss · Apr 22, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - The danger is real (you have no offensive capabilities) but the punishments aren't so severe as to become frustrating. It's quite the opposite, in fact. The allure of the mystery is too much to suppress, and even the most dangerous waters beg to be conquered in search of answers.

Sell your catch to the locals and complete quests to learn more about each area’s troubled past. Outfit your boat with better equipment to trawl deep-sea trenches and navigate to far-off lands, but keep an eye on the time. You might not like what finds you in the dark...
