- While the Seasons system doesn’t live up to its potential, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is a nearly perfect turn-based monster-battling RPG.
Daniel DeAngelo · Oct 30, 2024 Reviewed on AndRead full review - Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince blends classic Dragon Quest charm with modern monster-wrangling mechanics for a fresh and exciting adventure. The unique monster-recruiting system and tactical combat, paired with dynamic seasonal environments, add depth and variety to gameplay. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the series, it’s a fun, strategic journey through a vibrant, anime-like world. Get ready to conquer the monster world in style!
Lepodori · Oct 24, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - If you skipped Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince on Switch, the new mobile and Steam ports are the way to go. While the mobile version lacking controller support is disappointing, it is still a game I see myself playing regularly with its improvements over switch and fantastic core gameplay loop. Having all the DLC included means you will have enough content to last you even longer. If you do value controller support in a game like this, the Steam Deck is the way to go. Hopefully we see Square Enix keep bringing more Dragon Quest games to mobile in the future. Right now, the iOS version of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is easily one of the best mobile releases of the year.
Mikhail Madnani · Sep 16, 2024 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is a solid port of the Nintendo Switch original, free of all performance-related issues from its former release.
Zubi Khan · Sep 12, 2024 Reviewed on PCRead full review - With this game officially being the third mainline entry in this series, what we got is nothing less than a triumphant return for this brand of monster-collecting RPGs. While the simplicity of the budget portable RPGs that preceded it lays dormant in Dark Prince’s DNA, this is a big step forward for the series.I had so much fun I grew to want more than what we got. I craved more to do by the end, and I wonder if that slight emptiness I feel with aspects of the game is a result of aspects being held back to make a Professional version down the road. Maybe that version could fix my qualms, or maybe being stuck on hypotheticals is pointless.
Cullen Black · Feb 01, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - There are over 500 monsters in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, and over 40 hours of main story to trudge through. Fans will get a lot of bang for their buck, but expect to wince at the presentation which is embarrassingly low for Dragon Quest standards. The battles in the colosseums are a little tense to watch as the AIs smack each other around, but are otherwise tedious. The substance of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is in being the coach to a team of cartoony-looking Toriyama monsters.
Albert Lichi · Jan 11, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Nonetheless, while I didn’t love my time with Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, I appreciate the simplicity of its gameplay, with it undoubtedly offering fun in accessible bursts. Unlike richer, more immersive RPGs, there aren't any complex mechanics to get to grips with – you just get stuck in, the controls intuitive regardless of knowledge. This title won’t win awards, nor will it spark debates over the genre’s unique innovations, but it’ll offer some a means to while away the hours, lost in a sea of colourful monsters, which is sometimes all we ever really need.
Emma Flint · Jan 08, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is a fun traditional, monster-collecting RPG with plenty of homages to the classic Dragon Quest IV.
Audra Bowling · Jan 03, 2024 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - I really loved Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, probably more than I initially thought I would. Its gameplay loop is fun; scouting new monsters and creating new ones out of old ones was pretty addictive. I love exploring all the varied environments and watching in real-time the seasons change and alter the world. I also really enjoyed the accessible combat.

Tiene errores, pero todos salvables, por lo que desde

Journey into a fantastical world on a quest for revenge in DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Dark Prince.
Psaro is cursed and is unable to harm anything with monster blood. Now, he must become a Monster Wrangler to create an army for battle.
The hunt for high-ranked monsters takes Psaro through the ever-changing seasons of Nadiria and its unique environments, with rivers of bubbling lava, mysterious ancient ruins, and soaring towers of cake. Along the way, Psaro meets the kind-hearted elf, Rose, who joins his adventure to seek out ever-stronger monsters.
The key to Psaro's success lies with synthesis: the ability to combine two monsters and create a stronger offspring. Each new creation brings Psaro one step closer to his goal of becoming the Master of Monsterkind.
