Daniel Quesada · May 31, 2024 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - The lack of cross-save, cross-play, or an online multiplayer population combined with the game being somewhat outdated compared to other versions makes Xenoverse 2 on Stadia difficult to recommend, even to someone who has never played the game before. Those who want to play Xenoverse 2 will have a much better experience with any other version of the game, as they're all just more fully-featured than the Stadia version, especially when taking the DLC into account, like the Dragon Ball FighterZ crossover content.
Dalton Cooper · Jan 13, 2020 Reviewed onRead full review - I had a lot of fun with Xenoverse 2. The game looks great and there’s plenty of content to keep you busy. Even if you’re not a fan of the series it’s worth checking out if you like fighting games.
Kaelyn Daugherty · Nov 25, 2017 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - But mostly, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 looks, sounds and feels like Dragon Ball Z. Voices are spot-on, cinematic are true to the original and the battles are epic. A few characters are way too wordy, but so is the source material, so I’ll give it a pass. This is a love letter to Dragon Ball Z, and anyone who ever enjoyed the show will find something fun here. Just make sure to bring some friends.
Adam Abou-Nasr · Oct 31, 2017 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Overall, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for Nintendo Switch is a fun game which works well when you get over the steep learning curve of fighting the game’s controls. Playing through the entirety of the DBZ story is a blast, and while some design flaws persisted to the port to the Switch, the game is still worth a play if you are a fan of the series.
William Gallon · Oct 03, 2017 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - Packed with a robust story mode and a sack full of content Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 gives the aficionado and newcomer to the series plenty of excuses to have a good old scrap. It may not be as deep or nearly as balanced as a conventional fighter series like Street Fighter or Guilty Gear, but there is enough depth here to learn how to “git gud” if given the chance. The Nintendo Switch version is a commendable port and to finally have the chance to throw down Kamehameha’s with the smelly old drunk on the bus is well worth the purchase alone.
Darren Palma · Sep 26, 2017 Reviewed on SwitchRead full review - It looks stunning, has a solid gameplay base, and gives people who love the series a way to feel like they’re a part of this big, beautiful universe. Though it has its share of problems, I was really surprised at how much fun I had with it. I might not be the die-hard Dragon Ball fan that many others are, but I can tell through the exquisite attention to detail and the wealth of content that the folks behind Xenoverse cherished the series every bit as much as the fans they’re selling it to.
Heidi Kemps · Nov 16, 2016 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - That said, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is still a marked improvement over the original. Smoother gameplay, more options and a lessened focus on RNG really show the developers have learned a lot over the past two years. The new character additions help too, but it's clear Bandai Namco is on the right track to take the series even further going forward.
Erren Van Duine · Nov 16, 2016 Reviewed on PS4Read full review - Fans of Dragon Ball might find some value here, especially if they like brawlers, and super especially if they skipped the first Xenoverse game. Otherwise, there are a slew of better, more in depth, and more satisfying combo-based action games out there that I’d consider first.
