  There’s nothing original here, nothing that will make you think in a different way or feel anything other than a vague nostalgic twang. As massive and polished as it is, it’s essentially empty. And sure, it’s an emptiness that satisfies with little dopamine hits, but when you finish a session you’ll have no memory of anything you just did. And it’s kinda weird so many people are going to be okay with that.

  Disney Mirrorverse is a free to play game, but players will be constantly faced with pop-up menus encouraging them to spend money. The pop-ups occur everywhere – in between levels, when switching between screens, and when looking through notifications. I understand that free-to-play games need to make their money too, but the system makes it seem like players HAVE to buy these items if they want to make real progress, which just isn't true.

  There are tiers of rewards dispersed weekly depending on leaderboard position and how many points were earned for the Alliance. Competing with friends and Alliance members, as well as the promise of new content with regular updates, creates an incentive to keep playing. Disney Mirrorverse is a truly enjoyable experience that portrays some fan-favorite Disney and Pixar characters in a new, thrilling adventure.

  Overall, we feel pretty positive towards Disney Mirrorverse. Despite the flaws inherent with the genre, this is bristling with high production value and varies up the gameplay nicely. It’s also, honestly, just a joy to see collect your favourite Disney heroes and watch them fight alongside each other.

  They shred any remaining desire to further explore what is truly a bold and unique take on the Disney universe, which is a real shame. I'd hoped these Guardian versions of the Disney characters I'd grown up with would get more time to shine and show off their new abilities. Instead, I got buried in resources and currencies, which relegated these amazing heroes to posing on the menu screens, and the result is a big disappointment. I'm looking into the Mirrorverse, but I don't like the reflection.

  For where the game itself leaves much to be desired in terms of game depth and a real driving force for me to want to keep fighting on, the graphical style and character design raises a hope of perhaps visiting a similar multiverse in a more ambitious title with well-written story and rewarding gameplay. That's a lot to hope for from a company as usually entrenched as Disney, but in Mirrorverse at least a small part of the groundwork has been laid. Time will tell.

  Disney Mirrorverse is a great title, with a wide range of characters and franchises that are sure to tickle your nostalgia. Otherwise, all of those flaws are just a bit too great for me to continue loving it. I look forward to a potential future update that enables players to enjoy the game for just a tad longer, but for the time being, Disney Mirrorverse really isn't for me.

  Overall, Disney Mirrorverse managed to keep me hooked for the full two weeks I played the game. Gacha RPGs are my jam, and this one happily fits nice and snug into my list of games in that genre that gave me a memorable experience. If anything, it's a fabulous way to reintroduce yourself to the characters you may have grown up on and see them in action in ways you haven't before.
