- Codemasters understands the concept of the word 'race'. DiRT 3 takes that essence of competition, distils it and rubs it liberally into your console's aging circuitry, lighting it up with new excitement and adrenaline. Offline is as exciting as online racing - it is superb.
Justin Towell · Jun 24, 2012 Reviewed on X360Read full review - DiRT 3 is one of the best racing games of this generation. No, it’s not a simulator, but the textured terrain feels incredible. You can put several hours into the lengthy career mode, take your skills online, or move on to some of the bonus content. Whatever you do, you’ll be rewarded with terrific controls, wonderful graphics, and an enormous set of tracks to show off your diverse collection of cars.
Adam Dolge · Jun 02, 2011 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Codies have nailed it. They've produced a worthy sequel to the rollicking, Rio Carnival of a rally that was DiRT 2 (PCG 209, 88%). The new menu system – all spinny pyramids and brooding Battersea Power Station – doesn't have half the charm of the Winnebago-based one. But where it really matters, out on the dirt, the new one is more than a match for the old.
Tim Stone · May 31, 2011 Reviewed on PCRead full review - DiRT 3 is the clear-cut leader when it comes to off-road racing. Simply put, there's no game that does rally racing better. Codemasters has perfected the look and feel of this series, and is well on the way to perfecting the presentation. The addition of Gymkhana events is both bold and welcome, and makes for a nice break from the white-knuckle races.
Dale North · May 25, 2011 Reviewed on PS3, X360Read full review - Dirt 3 may be the best racing game I’ve played in the last decade
Justin Fassino · May 24, 2011 Reviewed on X360 - Dirt splits the difference, offering crazy mud-covered tracks and approachable yet nuanced controls, which combine to create the perfect blend of fun and challenge. Dirt 3, the latest installment, is no exception, and everything fans of the series have come to love in past games has been tuned and upgraded, making it feel an awful lot like the definitive off-road racing game.
Drew Scanlon · May 24, 2011 Reviewed on X360Read full review - In Dirt 3 a few scratches tarnish an otherwise impeccable product. It's a superb racing experience and shouldn't be missed. While the agent isn't the best leader through the tour, and the garage is limited in its operation, the solid gameplay, variety of tracks and events, and overall fun factor make this a terrific game.
Peter Eykemans · May 24, 2011 Reviewed on PCRead full review - DiRT 3 offers up a well-rounded package that is inviting to both rally fans and racing fans alike. Those new to the crazy automotive world of rally racing will also enjoy what is offered here. With great graphics, solid sound, and some very compelling and addictive gameplay, including a well-implemented multiplayer mode, the cost of this game is well worth the price of admission.
Kirby Yablonski · May 23, 2011 Reviewed on X360Read full review - Dirt 3 improves and builds upon its superb predecessor at just about every opportunity. The new multiplayer modes and gymkhana events are great additions, and if you're interested primarily in traditional racing disciplines, it has more than twice as many routes to race in more varied weather conditions and in an even greater selection of vehicles.
Justin Calvert · May 23, 2011 Reviewed on PC, PS3, X360Read full review - Speed bumps aside, Dirt 3 succeeds in accomplishing what it wants to do. It has the capability to convert people who aren't particularly interested in rally racing to addicts who need just one more race or Gymkhana event. It would seem that Codemasters' love for the sport is infectious.
