- Unfortunately, this isn’t the Digimon game fans will be jumping up and down for nor is it something they deserve. There isn’t really a key selling point to the game unless you want to collect some Digicards or hear the voice actors bring the characters to life once again. Unless you’re a hardcore Digimon fan, just stick with the anime or continue hoping for those Japan exclusive games to makes its way to North America.
Judi Azmand · Dec 07, 2014 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - Digimon All-Star Rumble is a competent fighter with fairly unique battle types that seems held back by a quick turnaround time, leading to a somewhat bare bones experience. The Smash Bros.-esque gameplay can be fun with friends, though a lack of online play is pretty disappointing in this day and age. With a large focus on the original cast, Digimon All-Star Rumble serves as a nostalgia trip for fans, but ultimately is not going to be of interest to the typical gamer who has no history with the franchise.
Dean James · Dec 05, 2014 Reviewed on X360Read full review - At its core, Digimon All-Star Rumble is an accessible brawler that may be a hit with younger gamers, but numerous issues put a dampener on the fun. Story mode will frustrate, and while the fleshed out versus mode is easily the title's best asset, the total lack of online multiplayer will be the nail in the coffin for fighting enthusiasts. With tempered expectations, fans could get something out of this, but for everyone else, there are better brawlers for better prices already on the market.
Robert Ramsey · Dec 02, 2014 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - That said, the game’s conspicuous lack of quality seems almost suspicious. It’s hard to imagine a publisher saving money on localization by developing an entirely new game instead, but if such a game were to exist, Digimon All-Star Rumble would surely be it. This may hold the Digimon faithful over for a month or two, but in the long haul, localized editions of proven Japanese Digimon tiles can’t come soon enough.
Griffin Vacheron · Nov 19, 2014 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - With bargain basement production values, mediocre visuals, boring gameplay and a substantial lack of features, there’s no reason to experience it. Adding salt to the wound is the fact that it’s for all intents and purposes a threequel to a mediocre clone of Super Smash Bros. Melee released the same month as the current-generation version of that series will debut. As hard as it may be to hear, it’s time to go back to the pile petition.
Steve Hannley · Nov 11, 2014 Reviewed on PS3Read full review - While other games are pushing the boundaries of what 7-year-old hardware is capable of, Digimon All-Star Rumble could comfortably cruise on the Gamecube without a hiccup.

About the game
Jam-packed with an all-star cast from the Digimon Universe, Digimon All-Star Rumble throws down with immersive 3D battle arenas and high-impact, in-your-face fighting action. After overcoming countless crises, the Digital World now exists peacefully once again. Although Digimon quarrel amongst themselves on occasion, the world as a whole is a peaceful place... perhaps too peaceful... The incredible defenders of the Digital World have grown bored and peace brings no satisfaction. A world without chaos has extinguished the driving force behind their existence - to Digivolve. To pacify the growing unrest, a proposal was made... "Let us gather all Digimon who seek to Digivolve and hold a tournament to crown the strongest of them all!" And so began, the "Digimon Evolution Tournament." A tournament of Digi-monumental proportions.
