- Diablo Immortal is an absolutely stunning experience, even on mobile. The game is really easy to pick up, even for people new to the Diablo series. Gameplay is smooth and impactful and the voiceover work is top tier. Aside from hating the ‘grind’, this is my new favorite MMO experience!
Cassie Peterson · Jun 29, 2022 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Diablo Immortal is a pleasant surprise for the most part. The franchise spirit inspired me to keep pushing forward until I got to the endgame material, where it became apparent that the whole thing had been a ploy to lure me into a cruel business scheme. There still is potential for something positive to come from this game. Although not impressive, it is at least decent, and fragments of its predecessor can be seen in the game's tone, plot, and art direction.
Rayan · Jun 25, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Diablo Immortal's smooth controls and gameplay are crushed under the demonic weight of a tangled mess of subsystems, currencies, and microtransactions.
Philip Palmer · Jun 25, 2022 Reviewed on AndRead full review - It's a classic Diablo experience, letting you gleefully watch all your stats increase as hordes of monsters melt in front of you. The power trip it enables sits up there with some of the best the series has to offer, which makes the sudden halt in pace jarring and off-putting. But it's still one that you can enjoy without needing to dive into the mess of menus and lists asking you to tap a button to claim a myriad of rewards day in and day out, given you're comfortable with not being able to power through it all in just a handful of sittings.
Alessandro Barbosa · Jun 21, 2022 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - I had such excitement for Diablo: Immortal through development, and the game itself is a solid experience and well worth the time. I'm not sure how well it will hold up over the long term as an MMO, but it's a good effort, and if I could just score that alone, it would be a 9. However, the monetization is very player unfriendly currently. Rather than getting out of the way and letting players enjoy the game and then spend money because they want to support a game they love, we are consistently being leveraged into feeling like we have to spend an indeterminate amount of money just to have a chance. Heck, you might have to shell out money just to make a clan to play with your friends. This isn't the worst monetization I have seen, but it's still a far cry from good.
Robin Baird · Jun 20, 2022 Reviewed on iOSRead full review - Diablo Immortal is a sham. It's seemingly spectacular, only to reveal an ugly showcase of shameless greed, terrible design decisions, horrific porting, and boring combat. Just play Diablo 3 - or any of the other great action RPGs currently available - and forget this even exists.
Ravi Sinha · Jun 14, 2022 Reviewed on PCRead full review - As a free-to-play game, Diablo Immortal has a handful of monetization options. In my experience, you can play just about every aspect of the game without paying a dime, and I appreciate that being the case. A premium battle pass (paired with a free reward track) and cosmetics for sale in the shop are among the less intrusive expenditures, implemented in a way that doesn’t feel exploitative.
John Carson · Jun 13, 2022 Reviewed on iOS - Diablo Immortal offers a fun combat system and a decent storyline, but the title’s constant cash grabs mar the experience.
Jack Brassell · Jun 11, 2022 Reviewed on AndRead full review - Despite the noticeable issues and difficulty with maxing out characters, Diablo Immortal is still enjoyable and offers a lot of options for gear and XP grinding. Dungeons, events, PvP fights, hidden lairs, and other activities make this new title fun and interesting for casual players that aren't focused on the competitive side of the game.
Jamie Russo · Jun 10, 2022 Reviewed on PC, iOS, AndRead full review - Diablo Immortal is a fine social rpg with a pacing problem. It weaves together some the most intricate, fascinating, and innovative systems for interacting with other players I've ever seen (particularly on mobile), but buries a ton of it under what are somewhat flat but otherwise serviceable action rpg combat and progression systems. None of it feels meaningful until you are finally given a goal, and once you're there, it's a pretty fun upgrade treadmill with monetization that will only bother you if you want to try and compete with people.
