  Overall, Demon’s Souls is a nostalgic trip down memory lane for those who played the original game. A beautiful nostalgic trip with enhanced graphics and quality of life features. If you’ve been itching to get into a soulsborne game, then this is definitely worth playing for. I just wished they added new story elements or even changed some so that it feels new for those who have already played the game before.

  Like all of FromSoftware’s latest games, Demon’s Souls gets under your skin with a combination of abject aggravation followed by glorious elation. It’s currently the best reason to own a PlayStation 5, and will likely still be an easy recommendation when we start thinking about PlayStation 6.

  The Demon's Souls remake may flip perspectives on the Souls series once you've finished it. Instead of being a game that's tough to go back to, its polish and refinement will make it hard to return to Lordran or Drangleic even if another game still ranks higher than Demon's Souls. Completing the first playthrough is really just the start of Demon's Souls, and with more replayability than ever before, it's going to keep people dancing between the Archstones for a long time.

  More than anything though, Demon’s Souls has allowed me to reflect a lot the past few weeks on my own personal life and where I’m heading. Despite my next career destination not being much of a far cry from what I have done here at DualShockers for the past four years, Demon’s Souls has shown me once again that familiarity doesn’t mean that a challenge still can’t be present.

  Way Too Many Games

  In short, I loved what Bluepoint has managed to achieve with the Playstation 5 remake of Demon’s Souls. This is, without a doubt, the prettiest the series has ever been, featuring gorgeous graphics and a buttery smooth framerate to die for. With that being said, this is a very faithful recreation of the 2009 original, meaning that most shortcomings related to that game’s overall level design are also featured in here.

  Souls fans with a PS5 certainly won't need to be persuaded to hop in, but I'd easily recommend Demon's Souls for the uninitiated to check out where the this third-person subgenre was conceived. The difficulty can be daunting, but it can also be overcome with enough patience and determination.

  For those already in thrall to Miyazaki, Bluepoint has paid the finest tribute: it has crafted a game that has, like one of his looping levels, deposited us back at the beginning, illuminating our route through the years.

  If you are a bit headstrong and don’t mind a constant tension hanging over your head in a game, Demon’s Souls is basically as good as it gets. While a few tiny adjustments could have been made in certain aspects, this is a nearly perfect Souls experience for fans of the genre, or those looking for a challenge. In terms of exclusive launch titles, this is a must-have if you own a PlayStation 5, or are still looking to get one.
