- Rounding things off I think it is fair to say that Deliver Us Mars is a frustrating experience and somewhat of a let-down compared to Deliver Us The Moon. While the environmental art style, musical score, platforming and accessibility settings are of a high standard, far too many aspects of the game are poor.
Harm0nica · Mar 21, 2023 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - As a planetary spectacle, an exercise in scale and awe, axe-climbing around the red planet like a Martian Tomb Raider or doing your best Matt Damon impression in a lonely rover, KeokeN's sequel largely delivers. But most everything else, particularly the connective tissues of narrative and drama, struggles to hit its mark.
Josh Wise · Mar 10, 2023 Reviewed on PC, PS5, Series X|S, PS4, XB1Read full review - Overall, Deliver Us Mars is surprisingly compelling, with a story of a daughter searching for her wayward father despite his crimes — while others on the crew are searching for him because of said crimes. Most of the gameplay does a great job of keeping things varied, but I wish that there were just a few more puzzle ideas to break up the times when it feels like the game ran out of ideas and popped in another MFT puzzle.
Tony "OUberLord" Mitera · Mar 08, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - A bit disappointing, considering how solid its predecessor was. However, if all you are looking for is an engaging sci-fi story with mysteries to uncover, and you don’t mind dealing with an above-recommended amount of jank, then Deliver Us Mars can still be enjoyed.
Kyle Nicol · Feb 28, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Overall, if you found yourself a fan of Deliver Us The Moon and wanted more, Deliver Us Mars will no doubt have you feeling thrilled. If you’ve yet to play that however then this is still a perfectly enjoyable title in its own right too, and whilst the opening hour can feel like it’s dragging a little, the story soon picks up and feels compelling enough to get you through to find out just what’s been going on.
Carlos Santuana · Feb 17, 2023 Reviewed on Series X|SRead full review - In Deliver Us Mars, you either learn to climb or you start over until you do learn. So, a lot of practice is needed to get it right. Manual in-game saves would be a nice feature to have instead of the automatic end-of-chapter game saves only. If your climb fails halfway up, you die and need to try again.
Howie Howard · Feb 16, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Deliver Us Mars is a decent narrative adventure, even with a fairly unmemorable story and some dull characters. The puzzles were simple enough and the beautiful environments were enough to make me want to keep going. Some control quirks and unpleasant character models did bog the experience down slightly, however. This game isn't bad to the point that I'd want to blast it into the sun, but it has enough quirks that it never fully reaches the stars like it should.
Ozzie Mejia · Feb 14, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - A rousing mystery brought to life by a great voice cast and nuanced character writing can't really save Deliver Us Mars from its shortcomings. Poor technical performance during cutscenes and backstory that is too often delivered by these barely-differentiated mannequins make it difficult to get sucked into this extraterrestrial world.
Leana Hafer · Feb 14, 2023 Reviewed on PCRead full review - Ultimately, Deliver Us Mars is a walking simulator that wants to be more than it is and does not understand that small changes are not enough to reinvent the wheel. Despite that, it remains a pleasant enough experience that players can finish in about 8 hours, yet one that does not beckon you back for more.
Cosmin Vasile · Feb 12, 2023 Reviewed on PS5Read full review - The issues with gameplay aren’t even related to any of the sequences in space — where players are floating around in zero gravity. Many of the frustrations are actually due to gameplay on the ground. Not only is gameplay overly tedious, but it’s also difficult to find other components to appreciate when human models and other graphical decisions leave the game looking like a last-generation product in some sequences.
