  Death Stranding es un auténtico juegazo. De esos de los que hay pocos. De esos que metería entre Nier Automata y Outer Wilds. Esa clase de experiencia que, como jugador, no deberías de perderte nunca, por ser tan diferentes al AAA que estamos acostumbrados. Lo recomendaría a ciegas, con sus pros y con sus contras, e incluso justificaría algunos de sus “problemas”, con una psicología hacia el jugador que realmente se acaba deshaciendo de la infame “Disonancia ludonarrativa”. Su llegada a Xbox es cuanto menos sorprendente, pues a pesar de que había llegado incluso a iPhone, creo que es un juego que se disfruta mejor en una gran pantalla en tu salón, casi como si fueras a ver una película (ya sabemos lo que le gusta a Kojima los peli-juegos). Si esto sirve para que llegue la segunda parte también a las consolas de Microsoft, bienvenido sea.

  Odd, compelling, and ultimately engrossing, Death Stranding: Director's Cut is a genre mash-up with more than a few ideas of its own. Not quite a work of genius, it's nonetheless something that once again demonstrates the madness and brilliance of Hideo Kojima. Five years on from its original release, it's only gained in relevance.

  Death Stranding Director's Cut is a phenomenal experience that, five years on, is still as incredible, mechanically, narratively and graphically, as ever. A top-notch cast do their best with what is an admittedly bonkers story (bonkers in all the best Kojima ways, you understand), whilst this incredibly haunting world, this emotional tale and its incredible characters, absolutely hook you in for one of the most memorable journeys of the past few console cycles. It's so good to see this masterpiece finally arrive on Xbox.

  Death Stranding: Director's Cut è senza dubbio un gioco unico, l'opera di una mente vulcanica ed incredibilmente creativa, in grado di creare un mondo affascinante ed unico, visivamente sbalorditivo e popolato da (pochi) personaggi memorabili e con meccaniche di gameplay inedite e molto interessanti. Il rovescio della medaglia sono però missioni che alla lunga diventano ripetitive e noiose ed un'ossessione per i dialoghi lunghissimi e non di rado tediosi che vi costringeranno a mollare il pad per decine di minuti mentre siete travolti da un torrente d'informazioni delle quali difficilmente riuscirete a comprendere tutto. Un'opera quindi dominata da genio e sregolatezza, che nonostante i suoi difetti consiglio comunque di provare ora che è finalmente giocabile su Xbox: non capita spesso di fare una full immersion come questa nella mente di un visionario come Hideo Kojima.

  Death Stranding simultaneously tedious and exciting, profound and inane, terrifying and laughable. Like the spectral beings that inhabit this post-apocalyptic America, it’s often shapeless and hard to comprehend. One thing is for sure though: it’s like no game you’ve ever played before.

  Death Stranding is a rather unique game that will not land well for all players. Those expecting an action game will be sorely disappointed, with the Director’s Cut not changing this in any regard. However, those who know what to expect from the game and are interested in an improved version, as well as those wanting to replay it, will likely welcome the additions.

  It’s the same deal with sound design as well. The voice acting is solid throughout with an impressive cast from Troy Baker, Mads Mikkelsen, Norman Reedus and Lea Seydoux, all doing a great job portraying their respective characters. Mads and Troy do an especially superb job bringing their villains to life. On the other hand, the soundtrack might not be to everyone’s taste, with tracks from the likes of indie artists Low Roar, CHVRCHES, and now Woodkid being added to the mix. It’s not my kind of music either, but it’s hard to deny that it works wonderfully for this kind of game.

  Death Stranding Director's Cut is a rare game that has no middle ground. It delivers a unique experience that encourages planning and patience but places high action on only rare situations. It falls under the umbrella that if you like this gameplay style, you're going to love Death Stranding, and if you don't, there's nothing for you here.
