The Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is a remarkably faithful, graphically impressive remaster of an original classic. The phenomenal RE engine brings the game to life, and QoL improvements make the game much more fun to play, though unnecessary censorship of original content and the missed opportunity of including combo weapons holds the game back just a bit for me.

Dead Rising is back from the dead with a remaster that completely overhauls the visuals and brings other improvements to the 2006 classic.

So, was it fun to be back with Frank again, with his new and improved upgrade? I think so! The story and setup of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster are still bonkers and fun, and there are great ideas and narratives all over the game. The visual upgrades and the combat are superb, except for the boss fights themselves. However, I do hate the timer, but that is a personal viewpoint, but the game has some great improvements to the gameplay mechanics that made me hate it less.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is a very interesting remaster, keeping the same core gameplay whilst deploying vastly better tech that allows a much greater level of detail. It’s not perfect, and I would have liked to see a few more changes to Franks’s adventure, but as the title suggests, this is still nothing more than a remaster, with not that huge of a budget. Regardless, this is a great addition to the series, and perfect for newcomers. Hopefully, this leads to some bigger Dead Rising projects at some point.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster hasn't only been fun to revisit as a longtime fan, it has further proven to me just how much juice this series has left in it. Capcom made all of the right choices in Deluxe Remaster from a gameplay standpoint, and even if there are other alterations that I don't care for, it's hard to say that this is anything but the definitive version of Dead Rising. Despite pushing 20 years old, Dead Rising is still a blast to play and Deluxe Remaster should hopefully be the starting point for more to come from the franchise moving forward.

Το παιχνίδι προτείνεται ανεπιφύλακτα, και ακόμα πιο εμφατικά προτείνεται το Dead Rising 2, συγκεκριμένα το Off the Record. To ότι το DRDR στέκεται για πλάκα δίπλα από καινούργιες κυκλοφορίες, λέει πολλά για το πόσο μπροστά ήταν το 2006.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster retains the things that made it great while addressing everything that held it back. The graphical upgrade just helps it shine brighter.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is a solid effort but falls short compared to other Capcom remasters. The fans of the original will feel nostalgic revisiting Willamette Parkview Mall, but younger players will feel a lot of frustration. The game looks like a modern production but feels and plays like a game from a time with plenty technical limitations that do not apply any longer. It is challenging and mostly rewarding but lacks the finesse of modern games.

Ik kan hier kort of lang over lullen, maar kort en krachtig is meer dan genoeg: Dead Rising Remaster Deluxe is gewoon vet.
